I predict the price will roughly hit these highs for the following years.

2018 - $10,000
2019 - $20,000
2020 - $40,000

What are these prices based on? Nothing, just my best guess, and it's always fun to think about the future price. I think these predictions are optimistic but reasonable.

What are your price predictions for the next 3 years?

I’d be delighted if your predictions mirror the future price. I expect the next halving to cause ridiculously high prices. That’s in 2020 which is when the Olympics is being held in bitcoin loving Japan so it’s definitely moon time then.

It’s something I read bro, would seem to make sense that the price will soar if Japan can gear itself up to accept bitcoin in many places. I don’t know exact figures but there will be a shit load of people descending down on Japan spending a lot of money throughout the duration of the games.

2018 - $10,000
2019 - $20,000
2020 - $40,000

and why do you think bitcoin price rise will slow down in the future instead of speeding up?

you see in the past price has been rising at least 100% every year. for example:
in 2015 price went from $200 ($152 bottom) to nearly $500 by the end of the year (~150%)
in 2016 price went from nearly $500 ($430) to $1100 by the end of the year (~155%)
in 2017 which is not ended yet price went from $1100 to $5600 and that is (400%)

but you say in 2018 price will rise 78% then 100% in 2019 and another 100% in 2020!
so why is that?

Currently bitcoin has been priced between $ 5,000 and $ 6,000. With the economic uncertainty I believe in the next three years bitcoin prices will change.
2018: $ 7,000.
2019: $ 10,000.
2020: $ 20,000
I think it can even exceed the predicted price.

Hmm. I think we've been outrageously overindulged in recent times by the near relentless spiral upwards. Obviously that was earned in the seemingly never ending bear market, but soon or already this bull market will have outlasted that.

I remember the $4-10,000 predictions for 2014 in 2013 which certainly did not make anyone look cool after the fact. Obviously those circumstances such as Gox can never be repeated but we're never to know what's around the corner.

... we're never to know what's around the corner.

i mostly agree with what you said, i just want to add that despite not knowing what is around the corner and all the risks of that, we know that worse case scenario is just delaying the inevitable.
the rise will happen, as it happened after the Gox disaster. it took long to recover from that but the recovery happened and even Japan (home of Gox) came back to the game stronger than before.

Assuming whatever's lurking in the alleyway is a blip then that's possible, but even then acting like tens of thousands are a right and an inevitability is enough to make real trading professionals wince.

Speculation is still the overwhelming driver of this, and speculator confidence is a nervous and vapourous thing.

All exponential growth eventually turns into a S-curve:

My prediction is quite simple: it will drop hard a few times, but long term keeps going up. That's what I base my holdings on.

That's way too smooth for Bitcoin Smiley

If anything, it will probably look more like:

2018 - $10,000
2019 - $2,000
2020 - $40,000

I still wouldn't expect USD 40k,- sooner than 2021/22 though. So far the halving always took about 6 - 12 months until it made itself felt in the market.

Yes maybe you are predicting a high price, 40 thousand dollars is a huge amount of money.. maybe i expect to see bitcoin at 20 thousand dollars in four years from now, and i am being too optimistic with those rates, but nobody can predict the real price of bitcoin. I thought that the price was going to be $5000 on 2018, so i was wrong with it.
The market is crazy at the moment, it is so volatile with those recently events.

I'd say somewhere in the beginning of early adopters.

So I would say:
2018 : 15,000
2019 : 45,000
2020 : 125,000

Me too. The regular proclamations on here from people that we're fully out of the early adopter phase are genuinely ridiculous. We may not have entered it all yet, but there's not exactly an adjudicator to tell us that anyway.

If you look at the total percentage of people using it, I wouldn't be surprised if it's much less than 1%. Considering the large number of altcoins being created, it could even still be the Innovators phase.
Then again, that is assuming it'll reach almost 100% market penetration at some point, which I don't expect to happen. I expect Bitcoin is here to stay for quite a while, but it will always remain one of many payment systems.

Maybe it can go up even more, nobody knows how much will bitcoin rise in the next years, but if we use the same path that bitcoin had this year, then it is upto 400% every year, this is crazy.
But i dont know if it will get to $10k soon, maybe it will take much more time than what we think for now.
well nobody knows yet, maybe there will be a big dump and we still dont know anything about it.
we only have to wait.

2018 - $10,000
2019 - $20,000
2020 - $40,000

Indeed. After BTC reached an ATH in november 2013, it took over three years to set a new record. The trend is definitely upwards but with a lot of ups and downs and those downs can be really deep and lengthy. But as mentioned above, catastrophes like Mt.Gox are most likely a thing of the past so the value of BTC will now remain in the 4 numbers ($1000 and up).

The prediction is not reasonable since bitcoin does not go up all the time. I predict bitcoin price will be sitting at $1000 or somewhere near that before 2018 ends. By 2019, bitcoin price would be sitting again at 1500$ and by 2020, bitcoin price will have a price near or at $10,000. These price predictions are based on the current movements of bitcoin way back 2013. Considering history would repeat itself, bitcoin might have the said price before the end of the given year.

Again, we will have to  see the situation in November-December of this year and reassess. After the fork, there seems to be a general consensus that there will be a correction in the prices. The forks seem to be the events driving up the btc prices now. So its secure for now,but later it might be hard to continue the appreciating trend.

If we were still hovering below the $1000 mark, I would definitely say that I don't see this become reality. But things have changed quite a bit this year, and it actually justifies the market to increase by such margins.

If there is one thing that is happening as we speak, then it's the adoption that's picking up. This is a process that takes years and years, which basically means that there won't be a stop to Bitcoin's growth in the next years.

Another thing I have been noticing is that the average Bitcoiners seem to be willing to hodl on to their coins for longer periods of time, which a year or two ago was something we could only hope for.

It all tells me that there is a growing confidence in Bitcoin, which is obviously well justified.

BSV is not the real Bcash. Bcash is the real Bcash.
