Token Sale SportsPodium is very excited to announce its Initial Token Offering to start on the 27th of November 2017!
The token offering is set to raise 50 000 ETH and will run for two weeks until 11 December 2017 or when the 50 000 ETH cap is reached. SportsPodium will do a pre offer to a limited group starting 16 OCtober at 12PM GMT. During this Pre offer a maximum of 4000 ETH will be raised that will be used to start the development of the SportsPodium Blockchain and finalise recruitment of the first Ambassadors. SportsPodium will launch an ERC20 token on the main Ethereum network.
Tokens will be called PODs while one millionth of a POD will be called a PODbit. A fixed supply of 272 000 000 PODs will be minted during two token sales. After the SportsPodium blockchain goes live, additional PODs will be minted daily, at an annual rate of 20% of total PODs in issue at that time.

The SportsPodium Project
SportsPodium is a blockchain-based information ledger for sportspeople and sporting communities. SportsPodium will reward everyday sportspeople of all ages, across all levels of proficiency, with crypto-based rewards for tracking their day-to-day sporting and training activities, submitting this information electronically, and building a digital storyboard of their sporting life.
As the demographic of our users are all sports participants, focussing on ages 12-30, the interface will be highly social media driven, and gamified to ensure daily interaction with the system, and an element of fun and challenge when entering information or looking at your profile.
While building the largest multisport database in the world, we will use hyper targeted advertising to drive revenue inflows into the platform to the benefit of all platform stakeholders. User Adoption User adoption is key to the success of a solution like this and to build aggressive and early user adoption, we will use a network of celebrity Ambassadors per sporting code, supported by a connected spider web of their Friends (associated influencers) in each region. These will all be sports stars with major media and social media reach and influence, that will be rewarded out of the token emission and revenue generation for growing the platform usage. We have unique access to these stars through a direct network of Olympians and sports PR resources we are working with currently.
The SportsPodium user base will include everyday sportspeople of all ages – from the purely recreational amateur, through to the top-flight pro. The goal is to ultimately ensure that every household with sports participants earns and spends some of our tokens (known as “PODs”) to create a widespread POD economy, tapping into significant portions of the global sports industry. Both the Blockchain and Dapp will be launched by end Q1 2018.
Token Economy
Token economy principles and rules will be used to govern the SportsPodium internal economy and drive value, through both growth in number of tokens and the value of each token.
Governance The SportsPodium blockchain will be created by the SportsPodium Foundation and development team. Vested tokens underpin the governance structures of the network via voting on worker proposals. The platform will initially be majority governed by the SportsPodium Foundation, team and other large vested token holders, by means of their significant POD vesting percentage. As the network grows and based on the abovementioned divesting schedule, influence will become more distributed and less centralised.
Vesting for platform management fees
Vesting is a time commitment, enabling holders of vested “vPODs” to exercise influence on the SportsPodium platform. Unlike ordinary PODs, vPODs can’t be traded on exchanges or even used on the SportsPodium network. They can, however, be divested to ordinary PODs at any time. This can be done immediately either way, but divesting vPOD’s freeze their voting power for a period of time. The vesting counter starts when PODs are changed into vPODs and is reset back to zero when they are changed back.
Reward Mechanisms
SportsPodium will incentivise users through three main reward mechanisms:
1. Reputation Rewards The blockchain rules utilise a portion of minted tokens to reward users for accurate and diligent data contribution. The rules also reward community members for data curation and verification. Reputation is calculated based on activity diligence, accuracy and performance over time.
2. Promotion Rewards The blockchain rules utilise a portion of minted tokens to reward Ambassadors and their friends. Promotion rewards are based on their associated portion of the networks’ participation-levels, performance and growth.
3. Social Rewards An integrated smart media platform rewards participation and interaction amongst users (for example, by admins, clubs, schools, parents, fans, etc).
