Unfortunately in this world it seems that there are plenty of people out there trying to rip you off, even over what would be considered small potatoes.

I made an offer to trade LTC for BTC and UniversalTrek offered to trade with me. He did not want to pay me first because of trust, so I offered to send him 43 LTC for 1 BTC and once that transaction was complete, he could send me another BTC and I would send him 43 more BTC so that we both had to trust each other.

Of course this isn't equal since I had to go first... but I took the risk, after all, its a single BTC, who would risk their reputation on the site for that.

Apparently, UniversalTrek.

Here is a screenshot of him telling me to send him 43 LTC to his address:

I sent the transaction and of course it went through right away but only had 1 verification, so I gave him the benefit of the doubt and gave him some time. 3 hours later, he still claims he doesn't have the LTC even though I've sent him 3 URL's to different block chain explorers SHOWING that I sent him the money and at this point, it has 117 verifications.

Here is the transaction: http://ltc.block-explorer.com/tx/c89ab6aa3a572e2cdf7a707482a6da22899a875cb83d5ac4f42ace7378cddc2d

After he refused to acknowlege that I sent the coins and that he had them, and removed them from his address, I told him I would list him as a scammer so he said he would list me as one. I'd love to see his proof, as I clearly have all the proof.

Here is proof he moved it from the wallet I sent it to: http://ltc.block-explorer.com/address/LN7cfF95wXXN3tau1iMJVzkVfpw3eDFpZW

And ultimately he sent it to this wallet: http://ltc.block-explorer.com/address/LhGjZn8uMaNvjTUGH7aqqN44X3SznxTSzm

It is clear that he received the LTC, moved it, and then claimed he never received it. This guy is scummy and a liar. DO NOT TRUST HIM.

You are correct. You haven't traded with me. You ripped me off, took 43 of my LTC and never sent a BTC in return like you said you would. You can't provide screenshots or block explorer URL's because there isn't one that exists that shows you being ripped off, just you ripping people off!

Well, it's a public blockchain folks, so I think there really is only one question that needs to be answered here: "Does UniversalTrek own the LTC address ending in pZW?" If so, it's pretty clear money was received and spent. If not, did UT request to have funds sent to that address?

The screenshots look pretty damning, but I'd like to see UT answer that question.

I know it came from him since he sent me the PM's Wink All within a 15 minute period. Then the rip off happened and he kept sending me PM's. His address is listed in the screenshots and the block explorer URL show his address clearly.

I have never traded with this guy

So to be clear, your position in this argument is that those messages are not real?

Silence is golden. I'll get a moderator to look at this thread and see if they can list him as an official scammer. They can look at my private messages to verify if they want.

There is no arguing. I've provided a ton of proof and facts. You have yet to provide any proof whatsoever. It's clear as day, like I told you... Bitcoin and Litecoin are a public ledger. It doesn't lie. Only people do. I've provided it in black and white. The money was sent to your wallet. You withdrew it.

Even if you got hacked (which I doubt) -- the onus is on YOU to make it right.. simply claiming "your balance is zero" -- when its clear you did in fact receive the coins at the address you gave me, you should pay me the 1 BTC you owe me.

This. I think this is probably all it's going to take to end the argument if UT isn't going to be forthcoming with any statements or evidence of his own.

Well, that wraps it up! As someone who is touted as the scam detector, I trust his judgment Wink

Small price to pay (relatively) to identify a scammer I guess.

I put in a request to verify the authenticity of the PMs in this thread. If accurate, they are pretty damning, unless UniversalTrek can provide the PM with the bitcoin address that the 1 BTC was sent to.

As I gaze into my crystal ball, I see the UniversalTrek account going dormant and no longer logging in... Cheesy

Thank you for your help Maged. I'll gladly take one for the team so this creep doesn't scam here again.

I think you are right. Now, we need to make sure some of you GlobalTrust guys add him to your list as a scammer so that other newbs don't get suckered (like I did) in case he DOES try again.

I wish the GlobalTrust list was a bit bigger ;(

Guess he figured he'd go out in a blaze of glory. That was posted AFTER our transaction Sad

I think this just proves who is telling the truth and who is lying.
