Could Bitcoin hit 10.000 in 2018?

I think it's very likely that bitcoin will reach the heights of 10000 at some point within 2018 if not before. I would expect it to happen by around the middle of 2018 which leaves the rest of the year for it to really stabilise above that number and grow further.

The answer may be bilateral as well as biased because there's not one, but two forks this time.

The first one that's of Bitcoin Gold: An extremely shady practice being conducted by the devs and I hope it might not end up in theft and/or malicious activities after getting private keys of users to give them their share of BTG (still unsure about how they will make it provably fair). Community members may be in its support due to "free money" being given for their own coins, but don't fall for these things. Try to research before you go for this.

Other is SegWit2X: A possible upgrade to the current SegWit system with "just" a block-size increase that may/not allow what's promised, faster and accurate transaction confirmations and lowest fee (even lower than what you might be getting in SegWit). None is looking to support this atm and it looks like a failed experiment that tried to catch the attention of everybody with the name "fork". (Yes, I've decided it's a failed thing before it being done).

Outlook of the markets: The price is holding tight between 5500 - 5800 range and it looks like a short-term bearish situation may be seen after these forks take place. But eventually, everything will recover and we will be above 6000. 10k is not impossible but may take time as Bitcoin has gained too much too fast that I think it should go stable for a few months before rallying that high.

Of course it could. Explosive growth is nothing new in Bitcoin. I wouldn't be surprised if we reached $15000 by the end of next year. I'd say we would close at $6000 this year thanks to all the stuff with the fork.

I really wont be surprised. The growth is becoming exponential and what we have had in this year alone, and what is probably some of the news and development that would come up next year, the growth is going to be rapid more than what we already have this year and with that, I believe anyone who can do some maths can pretty much picture what the boom would be like.

in my opinion, bitcoin's price hitting $10K is not impossible and we will all be rejoicing soon as it hits the spot. The question when this happens is: Will it be able to maintain its price once it hits $10K? The big whales surely will take profit and probably, the price of bitcoin will go down again maybe at around $6-8K which will be a good opportunity for us as well once we also take profit along the $10K mark. Right now, the best move is to accumulate all the bitcoins you can and wait for the fork to receive your "free cash".

I think it's real. If you notice the price increase of bitcoin you'll see that the price increases not linearly but exponentially. This year bitcoin has grown in 5 times. Even if next year it will increase in 2 times the price will be higher than $ 10,000. I think that this year we pick the price of $ 6500. But then be rolled back.

There is a high possibility that it could get to $10000 if more countries endorse it to be legal and also if speculations remain positive in building some hype for new and old time investors to buy more bitcoins. This is what I have assumed and predicted.  That next year, $10,000 will be hit.  I know its very volatile but despite it'ls volatility,  bitcoin still soar up high. Especially now that it has been proven that even the big country like China can't  bring it down so this could make people to trust more on bitcoin. As a result, there will be lots of investors and holdings of bitcoins that could lead to high demand. So basically,  if there's  a high demand of bitcoin, the price is also that high.

There are a lot of posts out there implying that they expect bitcoin can continue to rise in value indefinitely, or forever. I agree that it will reach 10000 probably next year by my estimation. but the bitcoin value will top out. Even if bitcoin were to become the predominant currency of everyone on earth, its value could only increase as fast as global GDP increases (~2-3% per year).

OP is expecting a positive reply maybe he is planning ahead in buying bitcoin and expecting a good reply from us, and In my opinion that is really far ahead to make a prediction I mean yes it can sure reach that value but do not expect that it will be the exact year we can make it, we should focus in what is happen right now because that is the most Sensical thing to do right now.

If he is really capitalizing on that to know whether to buy or not, then he is only going to be doing himself. Probably he is some of those guys who are looking for quick gains and really hope bitcoin will solve the issue for them and then panic once it starts going in the other direction different from the answers they heard or crave to hear. maybe what we should be telling OP is, it can either get to $10k or be lesser than what we have now.

As long as there are not some rumors, new things / latest news that will appear and can affect to bitcoin price.. surely it will surely be achieved.
The possibility of at $10k by 2018 it can be possible, but considering bitcoin price is easily influenced by many things.. I still not really sure the price can be achieve that figure next.

I really do not know what OP wants to hear cause there is no soothsayer or someone who can see the future in this forum to know if bitcoin will likely hit that value in 2018.

Yet, looking at the trend from the beginning and what we have had so far this year, $10,000 in 2018 is very possible to achieve if all things work well. FUDs will eventually reduce and weak hands will also reduce over time, so we may not see very huge bearish trend after a while.

Any possibility could happen to bitcoin. the current increase in bitcoin prices is so stable and tends not to be swayed by price reductions. the rational price is still below 10,000 $ and is above 7,000 $ until the end of this year. everyone will be optimistic about the development of bitcoin values today. Bitcoin will be increasingly used by society and the price will increase continuously.

and then in 2018 we will defenetly reach the 10 000 $ prize becourse bitcoin becomes more and more famous.
now since a few months i can pay my domain with bitocin and also my VPS with bitcoin its new option in my provider.
I think more and more copmpanys will accept bitcoin as payments.

possibly we may hit $10,000 before this time next year or possibly before the first quarter of next year. However I do believe that if most attack by governments especially China and russia get reduce and we get good comments from them then we should expect the price to go up as high as  $10,000 before end of this year. Moreso so if we follow the way bitcoin is moving quarterly then we should get to $10,000 conveniently before end of the year.

The users have already overcome the FUD. Remember the news from the exchange ban in China? At that time, the exchange rates were like $4,400 per coin. It dipped by 30% after the news came out. But then the prices recovered. Now the exchange rates are close to $5,800 per coin, which is 32% higher than the pre-FUD levels.
