I got a psu from a friend and it came with no cables, so I have to buy new ones.

I'm looking for a 6 pin male to 8 pin male cord to power a 1070, but they all seem to be 6-8" in length. The only solution I can think of is to extend the cord length with multiple cords, but there has to be a better answer. I have been told that is not a recommend way to power a gpu.

Here is what I'm looking at

something like this https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812162034&ignorebbr=1&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-PC&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-PC-_-pla-_-Cables+-+Internal+Power+Cables-_-N82E16812162034&gclid=CjwKCAjwjozPBRAqEiwA6xTOYLOt90OjcvSBuJMvBLK4C6oTYbAveNZXvh7UFPlaHGel08qdDe4IBxoCO40QAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

with this https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIABMK5XU4113&cm_re=6_pin_to_8_pin_pcie_cable-_-9SIABMK5XU4113-_-Product

Just as an example - but I would only need 1 of the split 6+2 pins

I'm just looking for longer 6pin male to 8 pin male cables for a silverstone psu. What's the best way to do this?

Make your own cables.
Frozen CPU sells the connectors, pins, wire and crimping tool.

Check out deepinthemines.com - we have bought longer PCIE cables from them in the past, I think they were 18" cables iirc. They ship fast too.

You could also check out parallelminer.com since they sell allot of mining specific gear.

do you have a dmm meter?

do you know how to check that the dc output on the 8 pin side is correct?

what is the exact model of silverstone psu you purchased?

I can tell from your posts that you may not be fixing the issue.
