A suggestion to the forum admins:

I think that whenever someone change their email there should be a confirmation mail to be sent to your email or even you change your password their should be a confirmation mail.

What do you think? I think it would not be too hard to implement this.

P.S. It would be nice to implement and not wait for the new forum software to finish. As I say, it would not be too hard to implement and it is better to improve the security of this old forum a little bit until the new forum software is finish.

I am sorry to chip in, but I already suggested the same in my threads.

But the admin insist the ultimate one and only way to "secure" your account is to stack a BTC address here and sign message with it.

Email confirmation is not hard to implement.
In fact, it is very easy.
And it is proven very secure and widely used by countless legitimate websites.
It will in fact stop all the hacking dead in its track in an instant.

But the admin will never implement this solution.

Have you? Can you quote it here? Maybe I'll delete this topic if it has been suggested.

For some interesting (and bombastic) read, you can visit my threads at...
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2268657.0
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2270230.0

In those topics I mentioned many times on email confirmation as a very good solution, but the people in charge totally avoid talking about it at all.

No, please don't delete this topic.
It is still very helpful and create the right awareness.

Edit:
I didn't exactly brought up email confirmation.
I was "reminded" of such feature as a solution.
And I then proceed to stress this feature as a solution.

I see. I didn't actually read the entire topic -- just the topic title and the OP. As far as I see, those topics are focused to a different issue.

P.S. A friendly advice: don't accuse anyone if you don't have a proof to show. Just a little research will do. I've read it and honestly its bs (no offense, just being candid).

Different people will see it differently (bs to some, honest truth to others).

But if you read until the end, you will find my mention on email confirmation many times.
And you will find that every time I mention email confirmation, nobody involved in management of this forum actually talk about it.
Email confirmation may be good, it may be bad.
Email confirmation may have its advantages, and may also have disadvantages.
But disturbing pattern that those involved in this forum totally ignore talking about email confirmation altogether.

But often times, common sense will usually lead you closer to the truth, bs or otherwise.
