The answer to your question is no. 8XXX series Nvidia cards are the absolute minimum for Cuda, a 6800 XT does not have unified shaders and therefore would not ever work.

I have been trying to get a 7 year old motherboard with an 8600 GT working and it has been hit and miss.

Save yourself some headaches and get newer hardware.
