That's quite a claim coming from someone who pays for porn and just misspelled/used improperly 80% of the words in their statement, and who made over 4000 posts of stupid in a little more than a year.  Anything else you'd like to tell a forum of people who couldn't care less  Smiley

What does paying for porn have to do with anything? and you didn't read all my post, maybe you can actually learn something. See you think these people don't care, but I have an email inbox that shows a different story but that is ok.

Yes forum people that don't care, don't be a stupid newbie and let your stupid siblings or kid play with your bitcoin-qt wallet. It is real money and it should be kept as such. No one has every been locked out a paper wallet.

Fat slimy greaseballs (people who call themselves "guidos" and live in new jersey) pay for porn cams, that's the relevance.  But do keep on talking.  I could tell you that I'm batman all day long.  At the end of the day, nobody is going to believe anyone, and I'm not batman and you're still an extremely unintelligent e-thug on a forum.

LMAO Clearly I am unintelligent yet I am the one here who graduated from a top university and has actually helped the community. I am not an e-thug, I have not threaten you or anything that would make me a "thug" of any sorts. Thanks for using slurs against my nationality (Italian), kinda uncalled for but ok. I see it you just hate "guidos" and NJ people cause we are the cool people in the room, and I am the cool person on this forum. So yeah you just a hater LMAO people keep hating it is funny, also why is paying for porn cams a bad thing? Cause your mom told you porn was bad right? LMAO

Because porn is free and the people who pay for it are weird?  I believe the point where you used the word "hater", a word used by every unintelligent person in new jersey who thinks they belong on jersey shore/mtv, is where I decided that you can argue with yourself.  You wouldn't pass a freshman writing course, never mind graduate from a "top university".  How anyone could ever take your terribly typed, jumbled, dissarray of posts as "helpful" is beyond me.  We are not in a "room", and posting 4000 times in a year is not "cool".  Neither is being from new jersey, nor is being italian (you don't have to be italian to be a greaseball, you can just be a grimy slob such as yourself), as I've been to new jersey and it's mostly a shithole.  There is nobody here going "yeah nasty old new jersey guy who pays to jack off, you're real cool!", it's just you trying to convince yourself and I that you are cool.  And I am not convinced.

Again, if anyone is able to help me multithread a bruteforcer, don't hesitate to post Smiley

being form NJ and being italian does make me pretty cool.

good luck with your wallet recovery. learn to use the bruteforcers. try the lists first, they are good. also ask what your little brother typed in there. was it random letters?

So a family member thought it would be a funny "prank" to put a password on my bitcoin wallet.  Now they can't remember.  I was searching the web and found several methods of cracking the wallet password via dictionaries or typos/variants, but I'm looking for a way to crack via bruteforce.  I have little to no scripting abilities, that is why I am posting here.  I am running a dual boot of windows 7 and ubuntu 12.10, so if anyone could link me to a script for such a thing (if it exists), I'd greatly appreciate it.  Thanks.

Also, when looking at this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=117022.0  I was wondering just how I would run the script in multiple instances.  Again, I'm quite a novice scripter.

Sorry man, it's time to either roll up your sleeves and learn some scripting, or offer to pay someone to help you out.

As for your pranking family member, that prank was the equivalent of breaking into your room, stealing $600 in cash, then losing it. Write $600 on some paper, post it on your fridge, and mark it down a little every time you don't give him a birthday present, christmas present, etc.

Gweedo may be a complete jerkass, but he's an intelligent jerkass, and he does have a point. Leaving a large amount of money unprotected where other people can access it is kinda stupid, you have to admit. But that doesn't mean it's entirely (or even mostly) your fault. You could sue the prankster, but that won't do you much good if they really can't pay you back (though the court could garnish their wages if they have a job). I'd advise you to go to the police and/or a lawyer and discuss your options. I understand if you don't want to put a family member through that, but there's really not much else you can do if you want your money back.

Destined2bGreat, I may have missed it in all the noise on this thread: What wallet software are you using? At least some of them give you a chance during wallet setup to make a note of your seed, or a mnemonic that can be used to recreate your seed. If you have that seed, you can recreate/recover your wallet, rather than trying to crack the original one. This approach should get you all the addresses (and associated balances) generated by the original wallet, but you will not recover any addresses you imported into the wallet.
