So in order to post on a topic that really interests me I have to wait 4 hours and "invent" 5 posts to other people's threads (pretending they interest me so I don't get trolled)? C'mon people keep it real ... was BTC not about freedom of expression?

Note to NSA: please note in my personal file that the above comment, as well as any and all communications dating back to AOL/1993, are wholly fictitious, and are to be regarded as such. The later statement is to remain in effect until reversed by me personally in a waterboard-free questioning.

Yeah it sucks in certain cases like yours, which I suppose are 1% or so.

99% of the people just jump asking all kinds of questions that have been asked 100 times already and flood the forum
for 4 hours most of them find most of the answers Smiley

If you have something to talk about you won't have a problem passing this limit. If you know much about Bitcoin, go to the Whitelist and ask for geeting through and explain in detail.

Nice to see people objecting what I thought no one would have done it.

Only people who have no patience for anything and want everything immediately will hate this rule.

Remember. Patience is a virtue.

I didn't bother me, there's usually enough threads in here to get the post count up and I spent the time browsing earlier posts to improve my knowledge and make sure I didn't ask any stupid questions.

As has been said, if you have a real need to post you can request and bypass the limits.

I think the rule keeps away a lot of people who will only clutter the site with crap and spam.

This, exactly.

It's a good time for you to learn about Bitcoin. Even if you think you know everything about it, you still don't know much. We still see the monthly thread about "what happen to lost Bitcoin?", "Bitcoin is flawed, there should be a way for [random shit that been explained 1000 times]" or "Why should miners continue to mine when all Bitcoin are mined?".

You will appreciate this rule when you get out of the newbie zone.

Someone makes the rules and we follow, I don't question, I just do because I have a motive and that is to leave the noob section asap, as if I were a noob at COD.

Seriously quit these "Who else thinks 5 posts and 4 hour rule is ridiculous?" threads. No matter how much you and every other nube whine the rule will continue to exist. Go look at my very first 5 posts. You know what I did? I asked questions on the nube thread because I was a nube! I didn't whine about my then present limitations I just took advantage of the opportunity I had. Just because you're limited to post here doesn't mean you won't get help. Many higher ranking members like myself frequently visit this page because we all know what it was like. I actually used to visit this section of the forum more often than any other page despite my freedom to roam the forum. Why? because I found a lot of nubes that created interesting conversation and had really cool ideas, but now I hesitate to visit because every time I visit this section is flooded with "how can I get out of here quicker" or "4 hours really?". Buncha whiners nowadays. GTFO here with that bs!

I can't believe so many people complain about that rule it's really not that big of a deal. Many forums you have to post like 25+ ORIGINAL and unique posts before getting full access. Plus, if you can't come up with 5 posts then why should you be allowed to post in the main forum any way?

I didn't know about this rule until I wanted to reply to a certain topic. Now I have to find random topics to post nonsensical replies with, in order to post something of value in the topic that I want. Nice.  Grin It's not that big of a deal, but it's still a bit of a bummer. Tongue

I really dont think the rule is too big of a pain. The time it takes to create 5 posts vs the amount of time youll spend on the forums is  miniscule.

Either you own the bitcoins(private keys) or you don't. However with moneroj, nobody knows what you own.

I like this a lot better than spam.  You know how much spam I see on this forum?  Guess Grin
