Since last week bitcoin was getting pumping and most of the altcoins including bitcoin Cash was getting dumped. However, now that some altcoins are recovering bitcoin core is still getting pump. There is a hidden truth with what you have said. I agree because when the market leader crashes others will follow. For example Bitcoin is declared illegal by the U.S.A. What you said is truth! Many investors invest in gold because it was the first stone recognized to be precious and others one that were found later nobody care about there price except few. Bitcoin core on the other hand is like gold standard to others alternative coins. That is why whatever affect bitcoin will also affect most of the altcoins either positive or negative. Bitcoin core contains all the features of others cryptocurrencies and as a first cryptocoin, most of the structures of coins were link to it. That is why protecting the images of bitcoins is like protection of all others cryptocurrencies.

Simple enough, bitcoin still have the largest user base and applications. I for example, can pay my bills from my bitcoin wallet while other alts are still not supported in my country. If alts all disappear then bitcoins value would still be based on the supply and demand. I think it's highly unlikely that all altcoins will be wiped. In that case, I don't see why Bitcoin wouldn't be wiped by whatever law took down the altcoins. However, yes, I do agree that Bitcoin is the most important crypto currency right now and has the most backers. This means that it has the most potential to survive in the case that all altcoins were taken down.

As I see most of the people don't know basics of bitcoin and blockchain, and after that what you know about other alts like ethereum, litecoin, zcash, dash.. What is same for all of them? Blockchain technology maybe? Do anyone here thinks that ethereum depends on bitcoins, or zcash from dash, or put any alts instead of this?
Yes it easier to cash out bitcoins, but now you can sell ethereum on many places directly for fiat. And don't get me wrong here, I am for bitcoin totally with alts I trade to earn more bitcoins and that is it, but reality is that bitcoin can disappear but other alts will stay and some of them will take that first place. Just bitcoin will be here in future, with alts that is for sure.

A lot of people are investing in altcoins, hoping that their chosen coin will be the Bitcoin-killer. While it is possible that some coin might do so (just like facebook managed to kill MySpace), it is not easy to do so given Bitcoin's large user base. People will be distraught seeing that you feel altcoins cannot survive without Bitcoin.

Yes, i did a wrong desition by investing in altcoins, i thought that they behavior was going to be upside, and that all the altcoins were going to go up, but i am wrong with it. Usually all the altcoins are going to the opposite than bitcoin path, and buying altcoins is the same than put a Short possition on bitcoin/usd.
It is impossible, i really regret of investing in some of my altcoins, but i dont know, maybe bitcoin can survive without altcoins but altcoins without bitcoin can not.

Bitcoin gold may be a total failure if nobody wants to list it. I've also seen suspicions that it might be a scam. Bitcoin is a precursor of cryptocurrencies and it paves the way for the rest of them being the main target of regulations, bans, merchant adoption and such. If it succeeds other altcoins will have it much easier, but if it fails the rest will surely follow.

That is yet to be seen, if all bitcoins will fall, I don't think all the altcoins will die as well. I think that because they are all independent of each other they would survive, the only connection bitcoin has with most of them is that they are all pegged at bitcoin's price. If bitcoins die, I think something else will replace it and life will go on. It's not like cryptocurrencies all in all just revolves around bitcoins.

Yes bitcoin can survive even without alt coins, look at the start of the historical bitcoin pizza. There's no even any other alt coins from that time but only bitcoin and the rest was history. Alt coins are good for helping the price of bitcoin pump and it's true that without bitcoin these alt coins can't survive, they'll all become junk as most of them are depending it's market to the price of bitcoin and that's the reality.

You're correct because all the altcoin were trade against bitcoin. Besides, bitcoin is the first crypto currency and other altcoin creator review the bitcoin code in order to create their own version of coin which one the reason why people trust in bitcoin the most.  But it good to have the altcoin around though in other to create some sort of competition in the crypto market.

There is standard formula for me in this regard, that's indirect proportion of these two sectors of crypto currencies. Yes bitcoin core will always pump itself as people will have alts as assets to sell and buy bitcoin for. If the coin is new then you can just check for its development status and know how it might just get more investors attracted. If they are like bees then surely the coin is gonna pump itself and that would be time to make some quick bucks. Bitcoin survived without altcoins etc. in the first place in it's early days even when altcoins including bitcoin cash didn't exist so even if they get dumped it will survive. My only opinion on the price movements of altcoins and bitcoin is that they are completely unrelated to each other. The greatest proof for this is the current actions happening in cryptoworld. The movements of altcoins prices and btc now somehow does not relate to each other directly. Still there are some cases where alt movements are affected by btc and vice versa.

Bitcoin survived without altcoins etc. in the first place in it's early days even when altcoins including bitcoin cash didn't exist so even if they get dumped it will survive. i far agree with your point that the movements of altcoins doesn't affect the price of bitcoin at all sometimes, but if bitcoin moves it will really had a big impact for those altcoins, its because since then bitcoin was the foundation of all the crypto currency all over.
