The recommendation came from the House of Lords, wing of the British parliament equivalent to the Senate. The agency has recommended to the government the exploitation of so-called Distributed Ledger Technology (DLTs) for various government services. The Chamber added that the government should study the possibility of using technology in sectors such as national security, public safety, health, cyber security, customs control and immigration. In its report, the House of Lords emphasized that there are many opportunities for the use of DLTs in all government services. He also argued that the adoption of Blockchain in the public sector could change the relationship between the government and its citizens through decentralized mechanisms of trust in technology.
