I'm also waiting on how to redeem those bitcoin gold that I can get but as of now I don't have any updates on how to redeem it. I'm waiting for theymos to post it on the news section about this thing and that can be found above the forum tab under our avatar. I also keep on reading on their website http://btcgpu.org/ you can try to read the FAQ section at the bottom of it but there's no clear tutorial on how we can claim it but there are certain wallets that are indicated there including electrum.

Step 2. Import private keys into Bitcoin Gold Wallet of your choice (not that I can see any... not even on bitcoin gold website )
Step 3. ? ? ?
Step 4. Profit?

It will be just the same as bitcoin cash but we do not know if private keys would be still needed when getting a free bitcoin gold since this is a new fork not and its not bitcoin cash so better to prepare what admin will announce after the fork because they are the only updated about this like bitcoin cash before they are always updating the news that you can seen above that mostly you can see is the direct download or torrent download of bitcoin core latest version. .
Hope that bitcoin gold will be just the same to redeem free coin like bitcoin cash..

No, you will use DNA and fingerprint instead.
Of course you will need private keys, it's a fork of Bitcoin, working exactly the same way.

Hope that bitcoin gold will be just the same to redeem free coin like bitcoin cash..

This "free coin" mentality sucks badly.


You will have to follow the steps outlined by HCP.
The only client currently available is their fork of Core on git, so download that one, compile, and run it, if you want to use BTG right now.

You can see on their homepage (http://btcgpu.org/) a full list of services which will support Bitcoin Gold. There are some exchanges as well as wallets. This is the easiest way, although it's not safe.
The safest choice would be to put your Bitcoins on electrum and just wait. After the fork happens, I'm sure there will be further communications by theymos or other reliable people here on bitcointalk. Maybe a new wallet for bitcoingold will be released just like Electron Cash made it for BCH. Just wait and be patient...

The list of exchanges on the btcgpu website is not complete, or they have yet to verify other exhanges as Bittrex has announced that it will support Bitcoin Gold but it's not listed on btcgpu.
It's amusing to see that Coinbase has got it's facts wrong and this is why it's not supporting Bitcoin Gold https://btcgpu.org/bitcoin-gold-community-response/

Will electrum bitcoin wallet support upcoming forks?

No. Electrum is a Bitcoin Wallet... they support Bitcoin.

However, it is fully opensource, so anyone that wants to fork the code and make it compatible with bitcoin forks is welcome to do so... like Jonald Fyookball did with ElectronCash for BitcoinCash.
