What was the IP address of the place where you registered from?

Furthermore, have you logged in from any place other than the U.S. to this same account? I believe that the location detection could work on either registration location or on the most recent location, albeit maybe it does work on citizenship country. However, I doubt this is the case as Bittrex does not actually have any way of knowing what your citizenship country is if you are not verified anyway, leading me to think that at one point you must have logged in from elsewhere which might have raised a flag for needing further verification. This is just a guess, though.

Common cases why bittrex do  blocked or disabled accounts because of using VPN which a friend of mine did experience such thing that his bittrex account has been blocked and he tried out what happened and asking regarding any violations that he possibly commit until the support did make some reply stating that it is being logged in on different country which they did disable the account for security purpose. He just remember that he did able to logged-in using VPN which he do explain on them and activate his account back.

Ah, so that could potentially be the underlying cause between some of the account suspensions. But then more importantly for those affected, I take it that your friend was able to talk them into re-enabling his account without requiring any verification? If so, then that is very good news for those with suspended accounts seeking to get them re-enabled while still maintaining their privacy/anonymity and not having to send over their identification documents to a party that they don't necessarily trust. Of course, just trying to get ahold of their customer service in and of itself is a pretty good idea regardless. Good luck to those affected.

@rapidleech What happens when you try to log in Bittrex? Because When I log in my account I am automatically redirected to the verification page but I read a long time ago that accounts created before a date don't need to be verified to be able to use it normally, and it's my case. So I have no idea if my account is in good shape or not.

I've noticed that it seems to be geographically based. I'm guessing there's some regulatory or law enforcement pressure on Bittrex. In particular, I've noticed complaints from Middle Easterners and particularly Iranians, as well as Russians and former CIS countries. I can only speak anecdotally, but it looks somewhat political in nature to me.

To boot, people who are fully verified are having accounts disabled too, so it's not just a matter of tightening KYC across the board. I haven't heard of anyone from the US getting accounts locked, either.

Hardly geographically alone by my experience, neither beeing middle east nor iranian myself, and how about their support department handling situation...

My account was disabled since  12/Oct to now, and i didn't receive any response from bittrex.
Unfortunately, It seems they will scam random.

Totally random and overworked. Got my account which carried zilch ballance blocked. Gone through all of their chicanery to reenable. That lasted days.
At least they are not exit scamming, since blocking zilch accounts would not enrich no one. Yes, I have peddled through all of this just to recover $0.0
I assume they are in panic mode at Bittrex, probably pressure applied by law enforcement to shut down the whole show. Now they are randomly havocing partially based upon IP location or random number generators to prevent that somehow. Revoking fully verified customers speaks volumes about their verification not beeing up to par with pressured requirements.

I can feel with them. Suggesting to move the company abroad into safer waters.

I am no lawyer, but I believe that your case and the legality of them suspending your account and blocking access to your funds is going to depend on the local laws of whichever jurisdiction you reside in. Ironically, it is in situations like this that your government and their willingness to regulate exchanges and to help customers come into play. Bringing in official authorities also brings complications, though. You need to prove that you are the rightful owner of the funds if you wish to pursue legal compensation for your suspended account and are most likely to have to prove to officials the source of your Bitcoins. If you bought these through some exchange using fiat, this should be no problem at all, but do know that it will be recognized for tax purposes and other official matters. Good luck.

cryptocurrencies and digital tokens. Based and fully regulated in the USA Words out of their mouth Cheesy They are stupid to comply with the regulations in the USA and think that people will comply as well, If you are regulated, Taxing people by having them under your feet, Why would you as a government allow your people to earn so much money in the first place? I would suggest you to stop using any of the major exchanges, They will gonna do the same as bittrex.

Hey, I just wanted to let everyone who is interested in knowing what Bittrex is up to that I did end up having my account limited even though I reside in the United States. However, the process of getting your account upgraded is actually fairly easy. If you put in just your information without having to submit any documents, you already get enough verification to be able to withdraw up to around 0.4 BTC from your wallet. If you happen to have more than that in all of your coin wallets combined inside Bittrex, then you do have to either withdraw everything slowly every day or go up to the next verification level which I am not sure how long it takes. The first verification level only took me 10 minutes to get through and the identification part was basically instant. This is probably in big part because of my location, however, so it could vary.
