I think the problem is that you always need to have a wallet that supports ERC20 (Ethereum) tokens to receive tokens back.
Do you have a wallet ? If so, it's difficult to you to buy Ethers ?

Awesome, I didn't read that part in the whitepaper but I've read that you can also get appcoins by purchasing them directly using fiat currency or using your credit card or you can also earn them through watching adds and downloading apps.
