I have 1500 soferox coins and they'd be selling for 0.18$ per coin after the ICO ends (according to them) so that's about 270$ and I'm planing on investing that smaller sum into some alt-coin. Any recommendations? I'm not that much in the alt-coin story so not quite well known with the market. I was thinking of ETH or some bigger coin, but what about the smaller ones?

I recommend Neo because it has smaller value now and there's so much room for it to grow. If you store Neo in a wallet, then it would be generating Gas which is automatically a dividend for you. There is a recent ICO that is built base on Neo based P2P trading dApp and maybe there will be more in the coming months. China is also planning creating its own cryptocurrency and there is a rumor Neo will be the platform they will use. Given that China has a big effect when it comes to crypto community, it would surely boost the price of it.

@8rch7 you cant say that so sure, if for example us gov say that btc is only used for financing terrorism or drugs, and who uses is is a criminal then the game is over (its unlikely but there is possibility)...all goes to other crypto as well. we need to ask ourselves who will lose most if (when) crypto gets widely used and what will those "losers" do to remain in their position. there can be few ways for them to fight it...

Do you know since when this has been going on or since when government has been saying all that? So, where has it ended. The same government already understand there is nothing they can do to stop it, and rather than putting so much effort trying to stop it, they are finding ways they can benefit with the system.

Now, that is how you should start seeing it. Some altcoins for sure will get scrapped out while some will thrive more than how they are now, but no one knows and only time can tell.

if that would happen it will increase the marketcap of neo and it could bet Ethereum when it's use by china, I'm going to bet this possibility and personally I hold neo and until now I still did not sell anything despite it has perform very well in the past few months.

I guess coins based on privacy will grow due to different regulation and governments influence. Some of ZEC, DASH, Monero, Verge, PivX, ZEN coins should be pumped soon for sure. I have all of them in same proportion.

You invest in ICO is quite good but you have received money when it went to the floor and if you are profitable then congratulations you are a lucky person. There are a lot of fraudulent ICOs and many investors lose money. If you want to invest in ICO permanently, I think you should not because there are many unsafe ico I recommend you invest in a coin for something like for example coin this fistcoin growth pretty Since it's new to the market, it's $ 1 and it's now $ 13 or more. There is a simple theory less risk less returm. Eth is safe but you cant earn a huge return. Go for social, herotoken, ethbooks. I think these are going to become a great coin in future. This is based on my personal experience cannot guarantee anything.

Many of the new coins on the market today are confusing for us to invest so we have to be really good at predicting. BTC is good for future investment. But some new coins are also promising. So it can vary half of the capital invested in old coins and half invested for promising new coins

BTC is great but ALTS are the future. Just consider all the new industries that blockchain is helping, which obviously BTC can't cover. ETH should be definitely one of your holding and you can feel quite safe that it will appreciate in value in the next years. Besides that it's really up to you to research new coins and find what you believe will have some massive impact in the blockchain industry. Ask yourself these questions while researching new coins/projects: What problem does this coin solve? What team is behind the coin? Does the business model/whitepaper make sense? Are there any competitors and if yes how does this project differentiate from them. There are really so many coins out there, that your best chance for a massive return will be finding one that no one else found yet, and investing in it while its market cap is still below 10 million, just dig deep and try to have fun while doing it, cause it's a process that takes time (but definitely rewards you if you take the right decisions).

I actually did not find it wise investing in alt coins maybe because I don't give much emphasis learning more about it but I think it is always a good idea investing in alts just study their market very well and choose the best alts to invest with I'd like to believe as the value of bitcoin grows higher the alt coins also will appreciate in the future.
