According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

Take a look at whattomine and some of the information available and you will find the answers to your questions. Depends on the price of your electricity which you will need to look up to find out what you can estimate your profits to be.

Use mycryptobuddy, do NOT use cryptocompare. It's 100% misleading and will cause you to lose a bunch of money.

Yes, whattomine should give you a rough idea on the ROI.

Unless you are getting used gear, your "profit" will be a long way off.  Most likely a year out depending on how much your power costs to break even.  You should do the research before you buy so you don't get surprised.

Thank you! cryptocompare was definitely way off for me.. I wasn't sure about it. Thanks for the second opinion.. I won't ever use them again.

Depending on which card brand/memory, how they are configured and if the bios is modded you would get approx 10-14mh/s from an RX560 mining Eth and 26-30mh/s with an RX580.

Check which cards models are available to you and then search on here for that specific card to see the hashrate.

There are mining calculator available in the online. You can check the profit calculation with that by selecting your pc specification such as cards you gonna use, hash rate of the card, electricity cost in your location. These all together you can calculate the bitcoin or altcoin mining cost accordingly.

In the below link you can find the calculation for eth. Check you coin you want to mine and search it.
https://www.cryptocompare.com/mining/calculator/eth?HashingPower=20&HashingUnit=MH%2Fs&PowerConsumption=140&CostPerkWh=0.12

RX460 or 560 is cheap and not bad for mining some minor coins like XMR, but I recommend Rx580 even you couldn't afford many of them.
It show good hashrate on Ethash, and it's one of the most cots efffective gpus.

I personally stay away from the 580s and can foresee a really horrible resale value, given their limited utility in gaming and the extent that they're used in mining. Just my opinion and preference though.

If electricity is $.14 per kWh, you're not going to make any money unless price goes up drastically, at which you might as well just have bought coins. Your electricity is too high and you're too late, it would be a bad investment to start now.

Make sure you are getting those power specs right. I have rarely seen a base machine that runs off of 200W. Or did you get that spec from a motherboard or something. Older computers even, with nothing but the board and the output devices, without any carding need 400W or more.

A base system, with two added GPU, I would want to see at least 1000W, if not 1200 or more. I could be wrong, but make sure there is enough power, it can actually cause hardware failures that can damage the equipment.

What? There were no PCs in existence ever that needed more than 200-250 W for the basic configuration. And we're talking old dual CPU boards here, the hottest ones (which were mostly LGA 1366 and some LGA 2011 boards - those often idle at ~ 180-220 W with two 6+ core CPUs installed). And that's not even really "PC" systems but more like server grade stuff. Modern PC platforms consume 30-50 W idling (LGA1150+). Old inefficient single-socket boards (LGA 1366 X58 chipset systems are probably the worst here) were 100-150W at worst.

I guess you're confusing the actual power consumption of the system with the number written on your PSU. Smiley Those are (obviously) different things.

A base system, with two added GPU, I would want to see at least 1000W, if not 1200 or more. I could be wrong
Have you done any GPU mining yourself? You're so wrong it's not even funny.

Can you help me with thise GPU setup, if it is better than standard parallel placing:

http://i64.tinypic.com/33o17rt.jpg

With this setup the temperature of GPUs should be lower, because the air is blowing outside the case and not between gpus.
