how about if topic creators could tock a box to not display peoples signatures? would invalidate sig campaign miners posts due to no displayed sigs.

would attract more non spam posts and be opt in so as a topic creator you click it. only negatively impacts sig spammers as they’ll have to posts actual questions in those topics as no reward to them.

thoughts?

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

If they simply do self-moderated threads then that curbs the majority of the spam, so long as the owner cares enough. I found that when I made self-modded threads the expected number of replies declines significantly.
The feature won't see that much use anyway considering the fact that most threads nowadays are started for the sake of spam.

I wouldn't be against it, but it wouldn't work that well unless posts also didn't contribute to activity/post-count as lazy campaigns won't bother to deduct those posts. Shitposters will still create spam threads as well but it would be nice to have some actual threads that didn't quickly degrade into drivel.

Most people don't have time to police their own threads in such a way. It's far too time consuming and a massive headache to remove all the shitposts. Most people who self-mod just give up pretty quickly.
