Things are happening faster for LulzSec than we can report them – and not to the group’s benefit. Yesterday it was reported that a “mastermind” behind the hacktivists was arrested in the UK, although LulzSec denied Ryan Clearly’s role within the group. Clearly was charged with cybercrime offenses this morning by British prosecutors.

Official authorities aren’t the only ones waging war against LulzSec: Web Ninjas launched its own campaign against LulzSec and claimed to have turned over important details about their identities. The hacktivist group is making some enemies in the Internet community, and this morning a group calling itself TeaMp0isoN hacked the website of one of LulzSec’s members.
According to AfterDawn, TeaMp0isoN hacked Swen Slootweg’s (who goes by the handle Joepie91) website and posted the following message along with the Titantic theme “My Heart Will Go On” (you can check out a mirror of the site for yourself):

BREAKING NEWS: THE LULZBOAT HAS OFFICIALLY SANK WITH 100S OF ANON MEMBERS ON BOARD!

No matter how many bots you gather, no matter how much people you lie to, no matter how much pre-made tools you use, you will_NEVER_represent the real hacking scene, we warned you, we told you we do not make empty threats, we gave u 48hrs to secure your ircs yet u failed to do so, instead you posted hashes from public forums and then claimed you doxed us and laughed at the fact that I was 17 years old. Stop telling yourself that u are hackers, putting a ip into a irc is NOT hacking nor is using pre-made tools and scripts to grab databases…you do not represent the anti-sec movement, u are not allowed to greet underground groups like zf0, ab, h0n0, el8 like your member “AnonSabu” was doing, you will never be a part of the underground scene, if anyone thinks you are underground and can actually hack they have no idea about what happens in the underground scene. Oh and TeaMp0isoN issue 2 is coming out VERY soon exposing lulzsec members (pictures, addresses, passwords, ips, phone numbers etc)….not so anonymous anymore are you? Let’s hope that you can swim because the lulzboat just got titanic’d.

A chat log between alleged LulzSec members has also hit the Internet courtesy of someone going by the alias of Red_Penguin. “I am not promoting the purity and perfection of this government…But this Anti-Security operation is not the right answer. I suggest a #ProSec operation which does not damage the reputation of the Internet as a whole. Do not take up the Lulz Lizard banner and show how bad the Internet can be, but instead stand against those who are only damaging our interwebs which we live on and think for yourselves,” the anti-Lulz hacker explains. A link to the infamous Th3j35t3r’s site is included, who has declared his own anti-Lulz sentiments.

It would seem like things are catching up with LulzSec, and possibly Anonymous, which has aligned itself with the more attention-grabbing antics of LulzSec for Operation Anti-Sec. LulzSec has been relatively quiet, revealing only that it’s taken down several Brazilian websites.

To understand who/what lulzsec/gn0sis are/is you need to understand where they came from.  Everything
originates from the *chan (4chan/711chan/etc.) culture.  This internet subculture is pretty much the
dregs of the internet.  It's a culture built around the anonymity of the internet.  If your anonymous
no one can find you.  No one can hurt you, so your invincable.  The problem with this idealogy, is it's
on the internet.  The internet by definition is not anonymous.  Computers have to have attribution.
If you trace something back far enough you can find its origins.  So let's give a brief event timeline
on how these groups got together:

              1.  Anonymous rises up from 4chan against CoS.
              2.  Anonymous starts DDoSing stuff.
              3.  Various lower level hacking groups get involved.
              4.  Anonymous stagnates for a while.
              5.  Uprisings in the world Attract Anonymous.
              6.  ProjectPM Looser Barrett Brown becomes mouth piece of Anon.
              7.  Anonymous shifts focus toward "Worldy" Affairs.
              8.  Aaron Barr desides he's tired of his job and targets Anon.
              9.  gn0sis (Uncommon) comes out of no where and releases the Gawker data.
              10. gn0sis teams up with anon hackers with all the OP<INSERT SOMETHING HERE> crap.
              11. gn0sis (nigg, eekdacat, uncommon, kayla, lauralie) and sabu (from OP Anon shit) hack HBGary.
              12. This is where Topiary comes in.  They all form lulzsec to be "hacktivists".
              13. Lulzsec (now a mix of gn0sis and opanon people) hack SONY and other stuff.

The problem with Lulzsec/gn0sis's "Hacktivist" mantra is that they lack the skills to keep it going.
As such after SONY they couldn't get into anything.  So they switched their focus to just releasing
random crap that didn't mean anything.  Then they started running out of things they could hack. So
they put out requests for people to join them.  That got them a few hits, and now they've switched
their gears again to be "ANTI-SEC".  Whether or not this was an attempt at bring other groups out of
the shadows (el8, h0no, zf0, etc), you can only speculate.  But as of this writing: 6/24/2011 Sabu
and Topiary are the only two people updating the twitter and releasing shit.  Kayla is MIA.  The
gn0sis kids are gone in hiding somewhere.

From what we've seen these lulzsec/gn0sis kids aren't really that good at hacking.  They troll the internet
and search for sqlinjection vulnerabilities as well as Remote File Include/Local File Include bugs.  Once
found they try to download databases or pull down usernames and passwords.  Their releases have nothing
to do with their goals or their lulz.  It's purely based on whatever they find with their "google hacking"
           queries and then release it.

What's funny to us is that these kids are all "Anti-Sec" yet by releasing their hacks they are forcing these
companies to have to hire security professionals which keeps the Security Industry that they are trying to
expose and shut down, in business.  I guess they will realise that later in life when they get out of skid
           school.

So we've been tracking and infiltrating these kids since the gawker hack.  We have the D0x (as they call it)
on everyone except Sabu and Kayla.  First we'll go with the kid who did the gawker hack: Uncommon.

They basically didn't do shit. They defaced my personal site (while I'm not even a member of Lulzsec!) through a Wordpress vulnerability, shouted a bit towards a few people on Twitter, and mediawhored themselves into the newspaper. Nowhere in the process did they even *touch* anything related to Lulzsec, they are just trying to get their 15 minutes of fame.

Same recycled dox that have been posted by at least 3 different groups/people before, basing their membership list off the Web Ninjas blog (which is known to have misinfo on it) plus a bit of knowledge of the history of gn0sis. Nothing new to see. Google the dox and you'll see they all come from some previous Backtrace Security release or similar (whose authenticity is disputed).

tl;dr idiots who blindly follow an anonymous blog and believe it's the absolute truth. It would help if (especially mainstream media) would stop jumping on every skid defacing a site claiming more than he actually did.

I actually read from another forum what 'you did' and I guess it also was based off the jester or ninja stuff that came out.  Dude, it has to suck, I am honestly sorry for your situation and the bullshit it must bring (such as my copy and paste of something and who knows how many people just take it for what it is)

I actually read from another forum what 'you did' and I guess it also was based off the jester or ninja stuff that came out.  Dude, it has to suck, I am honestly sorry for your situation and the bullshit it must bring (such as my copy and paste of something and who knows how many people just take it for what it is)
The copying and pasting is not really a problem (it's all google-able anyway), the biggest problem is a lot of people that actually assume it's correct, and pester me through phone, email, IRC, etc, asking me things about Lulzsec, just assuming that I'm a member of it. It's rather tiring to have to explain every 30 minutes to someone else that I'm not a member of Lulzsec, and people ridiculing that statement as if I'm lying, etc.

I just can't wait for fall/winter. My furnace never generated money for me before. I'll keep mining until my furnace is more profitable.

You best be trollan'. Almost everyone who knows their way around a keyboard uses IRC, there are 70,000 free software users and developers online right now just on Freenode, bitcoin's developers hang out in #bitcoin-dev.
