First block was confirmed and paid out normally.

However, the mined block did not mature after 20 confirms like the StableCoin guys said it would.

Increasing the number of confirms needed to 120 until I figure out what the actual value is.

Capping new user registrations for the time being to allow the pool to stabilize a bit.

I will optimize it a bit and increase the user limit when I can.

Are total shares column precise? It says current round shares 277 for example and total shares 51, and I have already made to that moment about 2300 shares? But on the pool it says 330 current round + total?

It is correct, but it doesn't include blocks that haven't confirmed yet.  Since the round time is so low there are a lot of shares tied up in blocks that haven't been confirmed yet.

Give it a little time and your total shares will go up.

One of our users "mysbl" has figured out how to abuse the manual payout system and has stolen approx 2,300 coins from the pool.

I have disabled manual payouts until I can find & fix the vunerability.  In the mean time please use the automatic payout threshold to withdraw coins.

Thanks so much "mysbl" for ruining it for the rest of us.

This is how many coins this user withdrew : 2641.66263495
This is how many coins this user earned : 306.65277
It is userID : 432
The ip address this user connected from is : 173.230.118.194

The pool is a bit underfunded at the moment due to the theft.

If anyone would like to help us recover, please set a generous donation percentage.

Thank You

I'm putting all 3 of my miners on the pool with 100% donation percentage.

This will bring us back into the black, but it will take about two days.  Your donations are appreciated.

If you wish to you may donate directly to the pool by sending to this address : sftK67MrwsbchASciNJ3FwCvhZqZaniqBZ

Thank You for helping !

I'm pretty sure he used some kind of software or plugin to submit the post data for a manual withdrawal several times in rapid succession (all within the same second), this resulted in multiple payouts being started before the first payout was completed and his balance was reset to 0.

Automatic withdrawals are not subject to this vulnerability because they are run by the cron job.  They cannot be triggered manually.

Manual Withdraws have been disabled completely.  Automatic Withdraws are working normally.

I will not re-enable Manual Withdraws until I'm certain the issue has been fixed.  So we are safe from this happening again, we just won't be able to do manual withdrawals until I can figure it out.

So we are safe from this happening again, we just won't be able to do manual withdrawals until I can figure it out.

probably want to consider wrapping the process in a transaction, doing the db updates first (update balance, insert into ledger), then the coin send (if the previous sql succeeded), and if the coin send succeeds commit, otherwise rollback.

That, and rate limit how frequently you can do a manual transaction.  I'm sure 60+s is reasonable for normal use.

Just a suggestion.

Profit-Switching Pool w/ Vardiff -> http://hashco.ws  Optionally keep the alts we mine or auto-trade for BTC. In addition can be paid out in any of: 365, AC, BC,  BTC, C2, CINNI, COMM, FAC, HBN, MINT, PMC, QRK, RDD, WC, XBC

That might still be vulnerable to the same kind of attack, I'm not sure.

What I'm thinking is I'm going to separate the actual send function from the front end completely.

Like this :

1. The user hits the withdrawal button and a flag is set in the database.
2. 1 minute later when the cron job runs again it will send the payment, adjust the balance and ledger, and reset the flag.

That way, no matter what you can't trigger multiple payments, you'd just be setting the flag over and over again.  It wouldn't have any effect.

It would mean a short delay (up to 1 minute) in sending manual payments, but that's a pretty small inconvenience and it would help prevent new kinds of attacks as well.

Yeah, more or less the 'every 60s approach'.  It mimics the safety of the auto-withdraws, which is good.  Good luck with it.  Nothing worse than someone cheating the system.

Hey, about you delete that post...for obvious reasons.

Well... I don't know about that.  Transparency is important.  This attack is out there and being used regardless if I leave this post up. Other pool owners need to be aware of this attack so they can modify their pools to prevent it.

Leaving it in the dark only helps the people doing the thieving in my opinion.  A more careful thief might have been able to continue doing this without being discovered.  I'm certain it's happening right now to other pools based upon the same or similar mmcFE code.

Does anyone else have an opinion about leaving this data up or taking it down ?  I would consider taking it down if I'm the only one who thinks leaving it up is a good idea.

If I had a way to make it available to only the pool operators or the developer than I would, but I don't.  This same code has been forked a dozen times and is being used by tons and tons of pools.

I would like to give a shout out to "noble" who is donating 100% of his mining income.  I'm assuming it's to help us recover.  I haven't spoken with him I just noticed him on the PPLNS status list right next to me, at the bottom, lol.

Thank You.

I will remember your assistance and once the pool is back in the black I will make it up to you!

Makes things a lot neater and the airflow is pretty good.

Lol its a pretty ugly setup because I didn't have the right tools to cut out parts of the crate.

On a side note, the network hash has increased to the point where we are now less than than 45% so new user registrations have automatically unlocked so there are some slots available.

They will automatically lock again if we exceed the 45% threshold.

Wow, that didn't take long.  Back up to 46% and registrations properly locked again.

Anyhow, if your interested in an account keep an eye on the network hash.  As it increases our registrations will automatically unlock.

Sorry to hear about the attack. I've adjusted to 100% donation for the good of the people. Silverwolf, please let us know in a thread update or PM that we have recovered the pool funding that was compromised.

I vote to leave the information up and well known. We don't need what ever tools the thief is using to become a widespread problem. If the devs and pool operators can be notified, it needs to be done. A sticky thread in the Pools forum should be made ASAP.

Manual withdrawal functionality has been reworked to prevent exploitation and has been enabled again.

How it works now :

When you click the "Cash Out" button, instead of sending the money immediately it "Schedules" the withdrawal request.

Withdrawal requests are processed every minute when the cronjob runs.

Enjoy !

Has anyone used the Manual "Cash Out" function since i updated & re-enabled it ?

I tested it thoroughly but I would still like to get some reports from users that it is working for them.

Manual payout seems to work just fine, and the pool is at about ~%60 of the total network hash rate.

ok guys, I saw a crazy thing earlier.

The pool had nearly all of the network hash rate!  Not sure what led up to that but it's not a good thing.

We need to spread the hash out a little bit more.

To that effect, I have added a second SBC pool.  Let's move some of the hash over to the new pool.

Both pools are identical but they are on different servers on different networks.

They are completely separate though so you'll need to register again on the new one.

New Pool : http://swmining.mine.nu/sbc
port = 3337 (Stratum) or 8350 (Getwork w/LP)

Main Pool : http://silverwolf.ath.cx/sbc
port = 3337 (Stratum) or 8350 (Getwork w/LP)

Please report any issues you have with the new pool using the ticket system.  Don't forget to mention that you are on the new pool!

The new server still needs some tweaks for performance, and the time zone is wrong.

Both minor issues that I will fix tomorrow.

It's about bed time here...

Anybody else having issues with their share rate?
I've noticed this with other coins/pools but my share rate and my hash here rate are way off instead of just a bit. To clarify, my hashrate on GUIminer has been averaging 88kh/s for the past 5ish hours but I've only got like 80some shares and the pool says my hashrate is like 10-30khash/s since that seems to be how quickly i'm getting a share accepted. I've played around with a few settings and right now my hash is 75k and sharing at a rate of 35 according to the pool. I've only had one stale and I've tried stratum and PPLNS. Like I said I've seen this on other pools but the difference was i'd be mining at 80khash/s and only getting 65-70k...anybody familiar with this problem?
I have a 5770 Juniper GPU btw.

Feeling generous?

Most pools are never 100% accurate with the hash rate number being shown. To check and make sure your miner is submitting work as it shows, check how many accepted shares you have compared to how many are shown in the mining program.

I think I got it, I changed thread concurrency to 3200 and dropped stratum and it seems to be matching up...showing alot of stales but I think it might be wrong/not stale. Thanks though.

FYI, the hash display on the pool website is very basic.

It is a function of how many shares you have had accepted by the pool in the last 5 minutes, do the math of how much hash you should theoretically need to get that many shares and poof! there's your hashrate as shown by the pool.

If you are getting a lot of stales or HW errors or other rejected shares it will lower your displayed hash rate.

Update from Silverwolf's SBC Pool!
http://silverwolf.ath.cx/sbc
http://swmining.mine.nu/sbc

I've received tons of requests for the source for my pool from people wanting to open sbc pools.  I originally wasn't planning on releasing it until I was done with it, but since so many people are asking and it's in an extremely good state already I decided to release it in a limited fashion early.

FEATURES OF THIS CODE:
Easier Setup & Management with Unified Config Files
Enhanced PPLNS System
No Missed Block Payments (Ever)
Accurate Block Payouts (Yes, really)
Dynamic PPLNS lastNshares calculation
PPLNS Status display
Secure Manual Withdrawals (Exploit Fixed)
Performance & Appearance Enhancements
Pool Status Display with link to pool thread
Network Speed Display or Price Ticker Display
Automatic User Registration cap at a certain percentage of the network
Maximum Hard User Limit
Display of Orphan Blocks
Included stratum server already has newest exploit fixes applied.
Tons more that I can't remember.  It's the exact same code I'm running on my pools at the moment.

DISCLAIMERS:

1. THIS IS BETA SOFTWARE !!!!
2. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK
3. IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOUR DOING YOU PROBABLY SHOULDN'T RUN A PUBLIC POOL.  IF YOU WANT TO LEARN, START WITH A PRIVATE ONE FIRST
4. IN REGARD TO #3 THE INSTRUCTIONS I HAVE INCLUDED ARE NOT IDIOT PROOF, THIS IS TO MAKE SURE YOU AT LEAST HAVE
SOME IDEA WHAT YOUR DOING IN ORDER TO MAKE IT WORK AT ALL. ALSO BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE THE 3 HOURS IT WOULD TAKE TO WRITE THEM.

That being said, you can download it here : https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B6PMWmOuapNuZkRlUFZMQ1Jsb2c/edit?usp=sharing

When I'm ready I will do a proper release on github but until then here ya go!

(After you follow the link Click File, Download to download it)

Fixed the timezone of the new server.

I also modified the system so that the time since last block calculation will be accurate even when the system time is not.

I know the server time is some 6 minutes slow on the new server.  This is an issue with the VPS host. I have opened a ticket and hopefully they will fix it.  But since I've altered the calculation it won't effect anything anymore.

Ok silverwolf, tell me i am wrong. I mined at your pool 10k stablecoins... now I see only 6k in my wallet (thou i had 10) without any "send out". shows last transaction 6/9/2013 19:33 thou i was mining (and recieving) till 6/10/2013 7.30.. what the fuck?

edit: it was 14 mhash or something  i was farming with, and nothing that i farmed (and saw in my wallet) from 9th evening till 10th morning shows up. Is that how you treat people who helped with donations? what have you done?

Ok,

I have reviewed your data and I have no idea what you are talking about.  I think perhaps you are confused.

You are user id #436, you mined on the #1 pool from 06/07/2013 to 06/09/2013 (three days as you said) and during that time your Automatic Payout Threshold was set.  It is still set at 235 coins.

Your balance with the pool never exceeded this number by much because every time it did a payment was issued to your wallet, automatically as it's supposed to be.

You stopped mining on 06/09/2013 at about 11:20, your ledger shows your last block payouts on the 9th dropping from your average because you stopped mining and the PPLNS system was just paying the few shares that carried over after you stopped mining.

You returned on the 11th  and you only mined for about 15 minutes.  This wasn't even long enough to reach your full PPLNS payout as your block payouts during this time show.

There are no missing rows in the ledger table because the id #'s are all in perfect sequence during this time.  There are no missing entries.

You did not have any payouts during this time because you weren't mining here.

Furthermore,

1. It has been more than 10 days since you mined at this pool.  Why haven't you reported this issue before now ?
2. You did not use the support ticket system to report your issue, instead opting to post your complaint publicly before even letting me look into it.
3. You certainly did not post your issue in any kind of a professional or courteous manner, instead opting to accuse me of something ?  I'm not sure what in your very first post.
4. It almost sounds like you are accusing me of stealing coins from your wallet, but that is simply impossible.

All of this gives me the impression that you decided to attack this pool in the court of public opinion, possibly you are upset with me for some reason, although I can't imagine why.

In conclusion,

I have reviewed the database thoroughly and you mined for 3 days, you earned 6,123 (Rounded) coins, 6,111.92555338 of which were already withdrawn from the pool by your ATP payments every so often, the remaining 11.279642060000002 coins are currently in your pool account balance and can be withdrawn at any time.

Here is your account data from the account balance table:

436, 436, 11.279642060000002, sNJ5krZQ4FqqBqyJBtHVNhLJUM5B9Vs5zK, 6111.92555338, 235.00

I've uploaded your entire ledger here (LibreOffice Format) for review : https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B6PMWmOuapNualljYlBxLTM0QWM/edit?usp=sharing

I suppose it's possible you were unaware that your mining rig(s) disconnected from the pool on the 9th, and that you haven't looked at your SBC wallet at all in the last 10 days, but I do find it a little hard to believe.  And if it is true, than you aren't monitoring your mining operations any where nearly as closely as I would expect for someone who has invested the funds to build a 14mh/s rig.  If I had enough money to build a rig of this size I would be watching it like a freaking hawk!!!  As I would imagine most people would.

Moreover, when you have a problem you might want to be a little more mature in reporting it, in case it turns out you were mistaken as it has in this case.  Rather than leaping to troublesome accusations.

I run HONEST pools.  I always have.  When there is a problem I review it carefully and the ONE time it turned out to be my issue (on the now closed PWC pool) due to a bug in the payout logic, I used my own personal bank account to purchase enough coins to pay everyone what they had earned.

I think that my reputation speaks for itself in this regard.  If you have any further issues, please let me know.

First of all, i started night friday saturday, stopped early monday morning
I was hashing with almost 14Mhash

third only my LAST payment was set to 235, as it was to complete my 10k stable coins, your claim that it was always set to it is easy to test by your transactions
322896   2013-06-09 06:05:16   Debit_ATP   sNJ5krZQ4FqqBqyJBtHVNhLJUM5B9Vs5zK      -249.96232919
324799   2013-06-09 07:50:19   Debit_ATP   sNJ5krZQ4FqqBqyJBtHVNhLJUM5B9Vs5zK      -251.80760136

and so forth, due to the me setting payout at 250 (maximum). (this is the first your claim awesomely shown here).

I didnt report anything, becouse I had 10k sbs, and i turned it off, did backup and shutdown my client. For the future (like now).

Now do the (at that given point of difficulty) calculation of how much I should have earned with this rate in those times that you state, then look at what I am saying, think about "theft" from your pool and could it go somewhere wrong.

Srsly, I am not an idiot, I could do about 50 ltc in that time that I was farming, but I stayed untill I reached 10k sbc.

My wallet shows transfers: 6/8/2013 3:00 first (The drunken night starts) and finishes 6/9/2013 19:33 (last payout).
Would you like screenshots or any other proof?
I couldnt care less (as you understand from my hashrate, I am not some weirdo with 1 graphic card crying over something I might think is wrong) about the stable coin, I care about the what the fuck happened. Cuz I had mined till I had 10k, quit, did backup of walled (after last transaction, which was set from 250 to 235 (and stayed from there on)) and forgot about it till the time come.

Do you get why I am concerned?

Ok,

It seems I misunderstood your question.  Sorry about that, but you did come in swinging.

Your balance never reached 10,000.  You must have been mistaken, or perhaps there was a bug in the client.

Your block explorer record shows this : http://coinminer.net:2750/address/sNJ5krZQ4FqqBqyJBtHVNhLJUM5B9Vs5zK

you are probably confused because of the time-zone differences as far as how many days the span was.

times notwithstanding, your wallet never exceeded 6111.92555338 coins that you earned here.

It's not possible for me to have done anything to alter the transaction history or the balance of your wallet.

It's not possible for me to have done anything to alter the transaction history or the balance of your wallet.

I have no idea how but check this out:

friday to saturday night, my local time 1am (1am at saturday) i switch all my miners to your pool
monday morning, at work, 7.30 am local time, i switch my workers to ltc pool.

Tell me (and I am not an idiot), with even you saying 3 days farming, with my hashrate... how the hell i swiched off at sunday afternoon?
on your blockchain the 00 hours are my 1 am, so i am blockchain +1.

I couldnt care less for those 4k lost, I care about what the fuck happened. with my hashrate tell me, how much was I supposed to earn?

thats a very complex question... the difficulty changed a lot during the time you were mining as the attached spreadsheet shows.

https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B6PMWmOuapNuLWFkd0VSWlBNS3M/edit?usp=sharing

when the difficulty goes up you earn less when it goes down you earn more.

The prices are listed at the RRP for the UK from the manufacturer.

If you have an affiliate for the steam codes I would probably link that for you.

But I think i'll hold off on the sex toys for the moment.

thank you for the lesson master.. as you immagine me with 14 Mhash had no idea what I was doing.

Whatever, failcoin declared, thanks for nothing. Keep up the good job! Next time you have "theft" I hope there will be more idiots like me giving 10% of 14Mhash rate towards restoring your failcode pool. Nice going. Within a million years wont touch this coin now.

If you think a pool operator could possibly modify the balance in your client (wallet) then well....

Using the highest difficulty during the time you were mining would yield about 3200 coins / 24 hours at that difficulty.

That doesn't account for stales, orphans, or luck.

With the difficulty changing rapidly, I would encourage you to do your own math.  Because I'm not going to spend 5 hours doing it for you.

The only thing I can tell you is that the pool paid you exactly what you had earned.

What I can say that pool operator operating with about 80% of the hashrate on his 2 pools can do whatever he wants to the blockchain.

As I said, good luck.

So now you think I forked the block chain ?

I went to a lot of trouble and some personal expense to launch a second pool on a completely different host in a completely different part of the country, solely to protect the block chain.

That's the whole point in the automatic registration caps (on all of my pools) which some people said was completely unnecessary.

Moreover, I think someone might have noticed if I had figured out a way to fork the block chain.

If you have any actual evidence of a fork I encourage you to share it.

Wait... I get it now.

Your taking a (made up) dispute with a pool operator and making remarks about the COIN.

There are plenty of good pools now for SBC, anyone legitimately interested in mining SBC would simply switch to another pool after a dispute with a pool owner.

Your making generalizations and accusations against the coin that have nothing to do with me.

I'm guessing this is another attack on StableCoin.  It's not the first one we have seen but I have to admit, it's better planned than the last one was.

The theory probably goes something like this :

1. Create a dispute with the largest pool operator
2. Try and discredit him
3. Clumsily try and turn it into an attempt to discredit the coin itself.

And with that realization..  Our conversation is terminated.

FYI to our miners:

An issue has been reported where a few blocks on pool #1 recently (44905, 44912, 44920, that I know about right now) where the payments weren't issued automatically.

I want to assure all of you of the following :

1. All missed payments will be found and issued
2. The cause of this issue will be found and fixed

This is the first time we have had any confirmed problems with this payout code.  I'm very surprised as it's been running perfectly for weeks.

It's going to take a little time to dig around and see what happened to cause this and make sure it doesn't happen again.  When I get home from work tonight I will get started.  I will keep all of you updated via this thread.

There is no cause for concern at this time as the funds for these blocks are sitting safely in the pool's wallet and as soon as I have identified and fixed the problem payments will be issued.

I apologize for the inconvenience.

There seems to be a very obscure bug in the cronjob that allows a discovered block to be listed in the database twice once as a found block and again as just a regular block.  It is only triggered when the server load is very high.

It is due to the extra entry that these blocks were not paid by the automatic payout logic.

To resolve the issue I am :

1. Modifying the payout logic so that it will not be tripped up by this situation.
2. Re-work the cronjob to eliminate this situation from occurring in the first place.

As soon as I'm finished with the mods to the payout logic I will issue the missing payments.

 DONE .. 37 unpaid blocks = 910.2 SBC

It'll take a bit longer to fix the initial bug in the cronjob as that will take some thought.  But with the modified payout logic it will no longer have any effect.

I am sorry for the inconvenience and if anyone has any questions, please let me know.  Resetting pool status to NORMAL.

Notice to other pool operators using my code :

There is a rare bug in the payout logic that can sometimes occur when the system load is very high.  It can sometimes prevent automatic payout of the block reward on random blocks.

All you have to do is change one line in the checkledger.php file

Line 139

From This :
Code:
$csql = mysql_query("SELECT confirms FROM networkBlocks WHERE blockNumber LIKE $wrow[blockNumber]");

To This :
Code:
$csql = mysql_query("SELECT confirms FROM networkBlocks WHERE blockNumber LIKE $wrow[blockNumber] AND confirms > 0");

There's a problem with withdrawls on SBC pool #1

I am working to resolve this issue, but it is an issue with the StableCoin client and not the pool software.  Please be patient while we get this resolved.

I'm looking into the issue and I have posted the following message on the SBC thread:

Quote
On Silverwolf's SBC Pool #1:

The client is throwing an error message when users are trying to withdraw.

What does this error message mean :

Code:

PHP Error :
XML-RPC: xmlrpcmsg::parseResponseHeaders: HTTP error, got response: HTTP/1.1 500 Internal Server Error
PHP Fatal error:  Uncaught BitcoinClientException:
  • : Didn't receive 200 OK from remote server. (HTTP/1.1 500 Internal Server Error)

Client Error :
SendMoney() : Error: Transaction creation failed keypool return 5924
ThreadRPCServer method=sendtoaddress

I've restarted the client but it made no difference.

I haven't found any further information about the error and no-one responded to my post yet, so I have decided to clear out and let it re-download the blockchain again.  Hopefully this will fix the issue.

I'm going to have to shut down mining on pool #1 while it's doing that unfortunatly.

I will post updates shortly.

ok,

Payouts are running again and I have re-enabled mining on the pool.

It seems if you are trying to withdraw more than about 12 - 14k coins in a single transaction the client craps out and throws an error.

I'm going to add a limit of 10k per transaction to work around this bug.

Please don't try and withdraw if your balance is more than 10k until I have implimented this and replied.

Thanks for your patience.

Ok,

I have reworked the withdrawl logic so that if your balance is > 10k it will only send 10k (to keep the client from crashing).

If you are using the Manual Withdrawl it will do 1 withdrawl of 10k and then quit
if you are using the ATP threshold withdrawl, it will send 1 transaction of 10k per payout cycle (5 mins).  It will send the rest of your balance in as many transactions as are necessary.  1 every 5 minutes.

I've tested it and it works, if anyone still has any issues, please let me know.

Resetting Pool #1 to NORMAL status.

Also, User ID # 491 I used your withdrawl request to test the new setup, so your transfers have already been sent.

I've been mining on one of your pools yesterday:

I know how the PPLNS system works but at your pool it seems it is not working at all...

I've also sent you a support ticket but though I would also post this on the forums, perhaps more people are having the same problem at your pool.

Please look into it and correct is. When it's corrected a PM is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I've been mining on one of your pools yesterday:
http://swmining.mine.nu/sbc/

Something is not right as I did not get credit one single coin eventhough I did find quite some blocks:

I know how the PPLNS system works but at your pool it seems it is not working at all...

I've also sent you a support ticket but though I would also post this on the forums, perhaps more people are having the same problem at your pool.

Please look into it and correct is. When it's corrected a PM is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
