Without voiding any warranty? Smiley

I have two 741s that the fans run much faster - 20% faster - to keep them as cool as the others, that run 20% slower.  Since they are running in the garage in open air, I'm guessing these two may be a little "clogged".

Got a compressor out in the garage, with an air gun?  Blow out the dust.  Or get one of those cans of air, dust-off or some such.  Not very cost effective but miners are smallish so won't take much.  Put a pen in the fan blades to keep it from spinning if you want.

Using a vacuum cleaner to electronics is a bad idea because of the static electricity.

Use VRobb's advice.

Compressed air can be pretty cheap and if you want to spend a little more money you can get one of those electric computer blowers. I prefer old fashioned canned air though. Make sure the fans don't move when you dust them out to prevent any possible damage. For the stuff the air can't dislodge, I use paper to get it off.

waste of time  I have fully disassembled my s-9s  my avalon 721's and my avalon 741's

the s-9's get very dirty in under 90 days the 721's and 741's don't get to dirty .

the fins on the s-9 are way to close the fins on the avalon's are wide open.

the only spot on the avalon that gets a bit dirty is the fan grill.

so if you look at the fan grill and it does not look dirty then don't clean it.

if it looks dirty take the fan on and blow the grill clean. and wipe the fan blades

I would say forget the canned air and invest in a small pancake compressor or something similar. You can use it for all sorts of things other than cleaning your miners.

We have a 20gal California Air Tools compressor (it has the air drying system) and an air hose reel that we leave charged at around 110psi. We use a spray nozzle gun attached to the air hose to clean out our S9's and 741's about twice a week. The PSU's also. We blow the compressed air right through the running fan blades on the intake side holding the gun about 3 inches away. Very effective and does not hurt the miner or fan. A few short squirts does the trick. We have wire mesh screens over the main air intake grills but here in Virginia we get plenty of pollen that comes in anyway. Every time we clean the miners we see a 1-2 degree drop in the internal operating temps, so we look at it as a longevity thing more than an efficiency thing.

Use VRobb's advice.

Even you have static electricity.

That is why it is important to have grounding.
