You're going to need a motherboard and a basic AMD 64 bit chip as cheap as you can get because it won't matter much. Get 1-2 Gigs of ram at least. You'll also need some PCI riser cables most likely for both your GPUs. Also, a computer power switch to turn your computer on and off. That's about it I use a USB stick for boot drive, but you can get a Hard drive if you want.

why you think that stuff is on ebay its broke and locking up so they want to dump it. buy a new mobo  with warranty, used CPU is ok (people upgrade) and a new gpu. you get an old gpu and put this kind of wear and tear on it to save 10-20% you may as well get a new one with a 2yr or lifetime warranty and dog the snot outta it. that way if it breaks or overheats or whatever u can send it back

ok i got all those exact parts. plugged them all together with a 600 watt psu turned it on with a radeon hd 5850 in the mobo and nothing came on the screen. it turned on, fans spinned, but black screen.

now i am using hdmi to a flatscreen, does the hdmi not work until you install a driver or something?

i doubt it.

i checked all my fits on the ram and the cpu and the 5850, all are making good contact.

Not sure, you have never built a computer before?

Try reseating the GPU
Does the GPU you bought require extra power besides the PCI slot?
It probably does, you might need to run power to it from the PSU

i have built tons, i am just having problems with this one.

this is the second time i have had these symtoms with an entirely different set of hardware (which is at the pc shop down the street right now) and they said the pcie slot is a gen 1 my 2nd 5850 needs a gen 2 slot?

does this sound like it makes any sense?

and if so  and this is the same kind of problem, great i will ust get two new radeons that are the right gen.

Building a miner is very complex.. I prefer purchasing a preset miner.

PCIeX16 slot and a PSU 6 pin connector to the Graphics card to power your card. IDK what a 2nd Gen slot is? PCI, PCIeX1.... you want need these slots on that Mobo unless you go with a 3 or 4 card setup, and that will require risers.
Check your connections from psu to your graphics cards, and if those connections are good try to get output from your VGA output.
