Introducing Legacy : A new-generation smart will designed for the digital era.

People, for the most part, don’t like to think about dying and writing a will is something that often comes only when theyr are getting old or seriously ill. Unfortunately, life is unpredictable and death too, as Legacy’s CEO Felipe Faraggi sadly experienced when his dad died while still quite young. As many, he didn’t plan for this moment and never had the chance to say goodbye and write a will for his loved ones.

At Legacy, we realized that this was not an isolated case. People don't plan for this moment, because the process can be complex and time-consuming and people just don't have the time for that. In our opinion is quite important, not only that, but death is life’s sole inevitability and you should meet it prepared.

Built on top of the Ethereum blockchain, Legacy allows you to transfer memories and other digital assets to your loved ones after your death. We have developed a simple and easy-to-use application that allows you to organize your digital assets in capsules. In just a few clicks you create capsules which you can fill with your memories such as letters or videos, your belongings like your house and even your crypto-currencies. Each capsule can be assigned to one or more recipients, and you can add additional conditions upon which the capsules are transmitted.

After the conditions are met, your capsules will automatically be sent by Legacy to their recipients. Thanks to blockchain technology, the capsules are ultra-secure and can be sent several decades after their creation.

Blockchain offers a perfect solution to make the process of preparing for your final day a lot less tedious. Come to our website https://legacy.network to learn more about us and join our community on our social medias.

I like this concept and have been thinking about something similar myself. The need is definitely there!

It's a contradictory concept to what cryptocurrencies are for. Cryptos are decentralized, but making a will makes it accountable to the courts, which is technically not possible, unless the government brings their own centralized crypto (!) and force everyone to use that.
Instead of making a will, the holder can simply pass on the private keys to whoever he/she wants.

While I do agree that assets like your house will be accountable to 'the courts' so the speak, I don't think that applies to everything that can be put in a will.

In essence, blockchain technology can be used as a place of storage and direct access for the person that wishes to control and make changes to their will. Some of this (like passing on your private keys) can be done without a notary by using blockchain and an app like this.
