According to this latest research showing the top 10 richest holders of bitcoin. This reinforces the fact that people still belief that the price of bitcoin will continue to rise and there is no panic selling from those holders despite the fact that the price of bitcoin is going on a dip presently. https://dowbit.com/infographics-top-10-richest-bitcoin-addresses/

The "richest" addres belongs to bitfinex. Most of those addresses do not belong to rich individuals. Personally I think that they are crazy. If they were smart they would divide the coins to several addresses. It is safer to have multiple addresses. If someone succeeded in emptying one address they still would not lose everything. The only reason to have so much in one address is that it may be good publicity.

Most probably these addresses don't belong to real persons. They belong to exchanges or gambling websites. Any way, I agree with you about what said about people believing in Bitcoin.

Satoshis untouched addresses DO have about million coins in them, but they are not in one address. Those coins are in many addresses, each of them holding "only" 50 BTCSatoshi has never moved any of them. except in the beginning on January 2009 to test if everything works properly.

Nice info-graphs on the article but it is quite hard to know how much of those bitcoin held by those top 10 holder are still accessible, because some of the early bitcoin holders/miners are already dead or have lost their private keys. On those early days many miners haven't made proper back up of their bitcoin wallets. Didn't Satoshi have 1Million BTC? or that was bullshit :O
There is no way to prove exactly how much satoshi is holding but it is sure that all he have is not stored in only one bitcoin address so we can't track it from bitcoin richlist.

Didn't Satoshi have 1Million BTC? or that was bullshit :O
It may be possible, any person is not prohibited on having several addresses you can have 1 million address with 1 BTC each. Most probably these addresses doesn't belong to real persons. They belong to exchanges or gambling websites. Any way, I agree with you about what said about people believing in Bitcoin.
Maybe that is why it is titled as "Top 10 richest Bitcoin Addresses" Didn't Satoshi have 1Million BTC? or that was bullshit :O

Indeed , he even suggest from the start not to reuse your addresses to maintain anonymity.

So you are saying Satoshi has 20,000 Bitcoin addresses each holding 50 BTC? Dang, tat must be a lot of work to cash them out if he every wanted to. I mean imagine how long it would take. And some of the transactions might get screwed up and you just lose 50 BTC like that. Although he is a lot smarter than I am so he probably figured a way around it.

For some addresses it is quite easy to know. addresses 1, 2, 3, 5, 6 have recently been spent from, so they are accessible. And also 7,8,9,10 have been created in 2013-2014, when bitcoin already had value and those addresses were already so valuable that keys have surely been kept safe. Address 4 on the other hand is probably lost, because those 79957 BTC have not been touched since 2011.

that is the beauty of bitcoin. the anonymity! while bitcoin is not anonymous, it is anonymous Satoshi Nakamoto is like the symbol of it all. you can see first from his identity and second from not knowing how much bitcoin he owns. you can only guess. and that is what people have done, they guessed that Satoshi has 1 million bitcoin. but in reality it may be a lot less since bitcoin was open to many and they indeed mined it even for fun to test the network and see how it works.

Is there any concrete source to this thing? I mean bitcoin is already $5000 when does he plans to get a bit of luxury in life. Is he waiting for a time when he can buy everything just by transferring bitcoin?

I am very confused by this...
It says the richest address has 158BTC in there. Then right below it, it says that 1718 accounts have 1000 BTC or more. How does one of them not have more than 158? I am probably missing something extremely obvious but was very confused by this.

All I can think seeing those adress is that the first must belong to Nakamoto . But then I remember that the exchanges hold tons of bitcoin of their users, so these btc adresses must be from them. Now what I don't get is why this guy or enterprise have such a number like this in one adress. I would be so afraid to be stolen that I wouldn't even sleep at night, but guess what? being anonymous is the best thing from Bitcoin and cryptos. Thanks for listing this, I've been curious about that since I started using bitcoin.

I don't see that in the infographics!! the richest address contains 158262 BTC and it's bitfinex's cold wallet address. probably few other addresses in top lists are exchangers cold wallet!

Anyway i think that top 10 bitcoin address is not only belong to a single person and it is owned by a group of organization, gambling site or an exchange. Is satoshi nakamoto the owner of the top 1 richest bitcoin address? Wow! Thats 850 000 000 $ in fiat value.

Why would it take a long time to cash out? He can send roughly 6000 transaction in a block according to this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1782523.msg17777814#msg17777814So he's just going to wait for 4 or 5 blocks. Once they hit the exchange it doesn't matter if he has 50 000 or 100 000 or 1000000 cause no current exchange has walls with 50k above 10$. I am very confused by this...

Is he waiting for a time when he can buy everything just by transferring bitcoin? There is only one single way to approximate the coins satoshi holds and only the minimum. That if he still has access to the coins. Take the period when we know he was solo mining and calculate all the blocks left untouched. That number is close to 1 million if I remember correctly.
