Thank you for your interest and support for the Zap project.

There are currently no direct competitors as zap is steps ahead on all fronts. A few projects like ChainLink for example, provides a service for linking existing APIs to the Blockchain, but is limited because it requires data to pass through a single aggregator. Chainlink acts as an oracle that rests on its own reputation.
Note that, this model is included in Zap's system as an economic incentive, one of several economic incentives in fact. Along the line, Chainlink could become an individual oracle on the Zap network.
Zap has a much wider scope to provide secure and accurate data from multiple sources. We are providing an open marketplace where anyone can list their oracles and datafeeds. In other words Zap is smart contract and oracle platform agnostic, so Chainlink oracles can be listed on Zap marketplace.

Smart contracts are very effective forms of code, however they act only as a judge, needing a solid and reliable source of information to make correct judgements.
That's where Oracles — trusted data feeds that send information to the Smart Contract, removing the need of the SC to directly access and curate the information, lightening their workload — chime in.

Most of the oracle solutions available nowadays are rather simplistic.
Zap on the other hand has a broad scope of data as its sources are agnostic. In fact, data providers are incentivised to bring similar data providers on board, since oracles are more secure (and profitable for data providers) when constructed from bundled data feeds from multiple providers.

Zap's SDK is slated to launch anytime soon, so, developers will be able to harness all of Zap's characteristics and include on their solution!
There will be a press release happening tomorrow AM, which will also coincide with Zap's monthly project update.
