I understand them so well! It's hard to make money from publishing on the web, so most editors accept anything. It's also possible they're not aware of that advertiser. I don't blame them.
You are right this is what happens normally i have seen many adverts in past which are running a ponzi scheme or are a pure scam but coinmarket doesn't care you need to have minimum budget of $500 to advertise on their site if you pay that they will advertise mostly anything. They don't permit adult sites but any crypto related site is permitted.

Couldn't find any advertising terms for coinmarketcap but I think it is quite mandatory because coinmarketcap is visited by many crypto lovers and newbie investors who will easily get scammed by ponzis like this.

Looks like that ponzi have paid more than $10,000 for that top banner or even more and coinmarketcap is busy on counting those money rather than filtering what they are advertising.
That is generally on crypto websites which can be seen on faucets and news sites. The newbies are confronted with these promising investment programs and in the end, they are victims themselves.
Coinmarketcap and many others remain neutral concerning this type of advertising because this kind is the most profitable next to ICOs apart from Bitcoin Casino and Faucet advertising.

Today I saw Coinmarketcap to advert a ponzi scheme site, promising 12% daily interest : https://laser.online/

Does such stuff make you loose faith and trust in sites who are advertising it?

https://i.imgur.com/JWykhnC.png

They just advertise the site which pays them the maximum and wash their hands of it. As long as the site is legal, I don't think they really care. In the end, the people visiting the website have to be careful about which sites they trust.

When google could advertise sites such as myether(ponzi one, not the legit one) why can't coinmarketcap .
I don't say that the sites are wantedly promoting those scam sites but they themselves do not know of the fact.
They are just renting their advertising space and are unknown to the fact that they are scam sites.
Google always removes the advertisements which are scam when people report it to them.

Well it is definitely a worry that they are willing to advertising the kind of stuff on their site, but i'm pretty sure at the same time that they've got a little disclaimer down the bottom of these ads that basically says they've got nothing to do with the advertised site.

Here's the thing, they obviously need money in order to keep updating the site with new coins and maintaining it. They're doing it through advertising atm. I'm not sure this is the best way to do it, though.

With being the top website for tracking cryptos, with a good number of newbies visiting daily, accepting shady ads isn't professional. But since CMC is dependent on ad-revenue and with an approximate minum budget of $10000 for an advertising campaign, do really have to think twice about approving shady ads? No.

On listing pre-mined/scam coins.

Quote
Why are you listing [insert random cryptocurrency]? It's clearly a scam!

Nearly every crypocurrency has been called a scam at some point in its lifetime. We're not here to judge the merits of any cryptocurrency, but we provide the best tools for you to make your own conclusions. As long as it meets the listing criteria, it's eligible to be on the site.

Guess the same logic applies for they accepting Ponzi ads, we're not here to judge the merits of any ads, but for the users to conclude whether the ad is legit or scam.

Actually, most sites depend on advertisements for their income, so even if they know that the site that is renting their space is a Ponzi or a scam, they allow it to somehow earn a revenue from it. CoinMarketCap is not the only one doing this, there are also other crypto-related services and networks that allow such advertisements. NewsBTC, CoinDesk, CoinTelegraph, and CryptoCoinsNews are just a few examples of sites where you'll find similar HYIP or Ponzi advertisements.

You're right, and it's not even a question, most sites that have high impressions and high visitors each day will advertise anything as long the company/website/service pay them enough for the banner. Too many sites did that...

Very likely coinmarketcap use banners taken from a third party platform, like an ad marketplace. Thus they don't even know which ads are displayed on their own website. This is vvery common among webmasters since such platforms are intermediaries which connect ad offer and of demand.

Coinmrket i think is just a regular site and May be it was paid by that company to advertise or promote its own site. Seeing it is acquiring many views, its good opportunity to advertise site links. Because I have seen many sites in coinmarket cap and annoying as they be, that is how a site is earning.
As someone who has a few years in the media as a journalist, I have come to realize that most media houses survive and are able to take care if running costs through patronage (money from advertisers who could be moneybags or unscrupulous politicians) I know and understand that. But there's always some reputable media houses that stay away from that. That is what CMC should be doing. It should stay away and not let go of its reputation because of some cash in the offing. It shouldn't be allowing fraudulent schemes advertise on its site. Doing that will make it lose face.

We can even see this almost everywhere and even facebook are advertising such ponzi sites. They can't regulate it, they are for the advertising that will cost their operation. There are even paid articles that has been done even not knowing what's the real precautions of a certain project or ICO.

@Coolwave, LOL! I was a victim before of those ads and I keep on following them until I realized that there's no real "reading email" job that promises good salary.

That kind of knowledge should changed bro that is why I have explained how to take the ads advertised in the coinmarketcap. Coinmarketcap is the legit site but the ads all displayed in the bitcoin related site you no need to bother those kind of ads are not relevant to legit way.
Check the members in the forum, you will get the better explanation from them.

Boy, are you guys in for a shocker. Brace yourselves, for I'm about to drop a bombshell thanks to my in-depth research that took mega hours to conduct all on my own dime (as always, no tips solicited) ...

Scroll to the very bottom of CMC's page to find the following on the far left side:

Ignore the banner ad which was generated via Google Adsense, in my case, thanks to visiting the site and NOT via a search, alluding to that Google Chrome tracks more than you think.

Notice the "Advertise" link which I boxed in red. Following the the link, you arrive here ...

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSesk19wQostGxR3VTSXcsyvzIAK9bcsITyKLjsAR-bJjYB33Q/viewform

So that you busy guys don't have to, I filled out the form requesting info, using the minimal amount for a banner ad. I'll keep you abreast (the left one, for I favor the right breast).

Bruno

PS: Speaking of tracking, while checking my email I noticed a reply from Godaddy requesting to complete my order for some domains I researched (availability/pricing) while ... wait for it ... not being logged into their site. I wonder how the fuck they're able to pull that shit off.

Is this really a big deal for you on what websites are advertising. I mean I would maybe understand if a website would have a long term ad running or something that would suggest that they are supporting it or at least very aware of it, but for some short term ads that the stuff might not be able to track, I don't see a big problem. After all, The Pirate Bay has some pretty bad ads, but no one really cares.

Good point! Question: When will we start seeing ads for child porn? Or how about sales of illegal guns? Or maybe contract killing sites? By your reasoning, all mentioned are fair game. Besides, a wise man once said, "no one really cares."
