I'm going insane with this Avalon guys.

no matter what I do, I get this blinking red light!!!

New MCU today, (it seemed to help some issues so it was a good buy) but the red blinking light on the Back of the Avalon will NOT GO AWAY.

the AUC flickers between red and blue (sometimes green), when I reboot it seems the AUC reboots but the Avalon itself has no change what so ever, it SEEMS like the AUC gets the command but does not communicate it to the Avalon?

I'm literally going outta my mind, can you please help me out.

ANY info would be a massive help!!!

Thanks guys

so lets try this.

does this rasp pi-------- usb----- auc------ 5 pin wire------ avalon six  work at all.

what I am asking is     if you put in a different avalon six does the other avalon six work?

that would mean  the psu and all other gear works.

other possibilities the wire from the auc to the avalon six is bad   you can check each pin for continuity sometimes they are bad or cross wired.  you need a working avalon six to test.

next  what brick powers your rasp pi ?

sometimes the power into the rasp pi is not enough

this brick is really good

Sadly its my only Avalon.

Brick is from an Amazon fire stick, if there is not enough power would that cause this issue you think? can the AUC itself be bad???

if everything works on the Pi is that an indication that it has enough power? Keyboard, HDMI out etc?

how do I post pics here?

use imgur.com it is free.

see the one below  put

note   it will say  direct link on the imgur.com web page.

  [i m g]    https://i.imgur.com/qbHMzRO.jpg   [/ i m g ]      one each side

note no spaces  on that [ i m g ]  and that [ / i m g ]

and a weak brick  can run the rasp pi and not run the auc cable.

here is the problem

weak brick ----- maybe
bad auc -------- maybe
bad 5pin cable to ---- avalon 6
bad daughter board ---- inside the avalon 6
bad hashing board ------- inside the avalon 6
bad psu ------- powering the avalon 6.

so one of those things is wrong.

weak brick  easy to fix .

here is the fix

https://www.amazon.com/Anker-Charger-PowerPort-PowerIQ-Foldable/dp/B071YMZ4LD/ref=sr_1_3?

bad five pin cable easy to test

https://www.amazon.com/AstroAI-Digital-Multimeter-Voltage-Tester/dp/B01ISAMUA6/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?

all the other shit are hard to test.

bad auc  you need a good one swap it in that is how you test.
bad psu you need a good one swap it in that is how you test.

bad daughter board put in a a good avalon 6 if it works and you have tested for every thing else then it is the daughter board.

bad hashing board same as bad daughter board. swap a good avalon 6 in.

ok I have a power strip with 3.1 Amp per USB connection, tried that to power it with a different USB cable - no change

Tried a different 5 pin cable (those once where you need to plug in each of the 5 on their own lol does that make a difference?) - no change

Tried a few different USB's (not sure of ANY of their specs tho) - no change

Changing MCU the other day DID show some changes in the fact now I see more on the screen that I'll be taking a screen shot of got you guys later.

As far as Hashing board, I've tried each one plugged in by itself - no change

no idea what a daughter board is LOL

PSU is a Bitmain new one, but that does not mean it can't be an issue, I do have some HP 800's with breakout boards I'll test tonight tho

Well without a screen shot of the GUI I can’t tell you much of anything

okay this shows me that  you may have a bad daughter board.

that is inside the miner itself.  you plug in the 5 pin cable to the daughter board.

your gui shows the rasp pi works and it shows the auc translator.
it doe not show the miner.

what psu do you use for the miner?

let us
try a different mining address

try nicehash with your own btc addy
or try the viabtc with my address  don't run it long if it works as you would be mining for me.

note this version of gui is best for trouble shooting

different address same thing.

I'm using the Bitmain APW3++ (tested on my L3's to work fine)

Daughter board, you said a 5 pin connects to it? which 5 pin? I have a 4 pin that connects to the AUC (from the MCU)

OK, this thread seems to be exactly what I need.

One of my AUC2 adaptors became unoperational. Even with no Avalons connected to it (I have flashed a dedicated Raspberry for debugging) the blue LED is on for 8 seconds, then off for 2 seconds and then the cycle repeats indefinitely.

At Raspverry side I see this (System Log):

No matter whether it's on Raspberry 3 or older HW version (red PCB, you know...). I was trying different Raspberries, different microUSB cables with no result. I guess there's something wrong with AUC2 itself? Can I somehow fix it?

I have another 2 AUC2s with no LEDs shining, I guess there will be harder (or impossible) to fix those two... But I need this one which is shining!..
