I came across a lavish campaign on a new cryptocurency by sphere.social which is SAT (Social Activity Token).  Do anyone by  chance know how legit this is .

If you're talking about an ICO, you can tell if the project is legit or not by searching the team behind it and reading its whitepaper but there are some instances that are too hard to tell whether the project is legit or not. But there are some obvious scam with the team member if these people are real or not.

Sounds like a ICO to me. And just a simple search in the forum will give you this results. They have their ANN thread here:

It's really hard to distinguished which one is legit and which one is not. Just that they have a lavish campaign doesn't mean that they are trusted. There are good enough information on that thread. You can read everyone's comment and decide for yourself if they are legit or not.

Spoiler: There are doubts cast on the beginning of the part about the who is the team behind. I don't want to spoon feed you with all the details. Goodluck though if you are planning to invest on it.

Its an ICO and they have nearly 60000 users has bounty campaign participants. Really a big bounty campaign. But till now they haven't announced who are the developers behind the team. Sounds fishy to me. Without proper research no one can tell whether its legit or not and for the proper research it will take time. So be carefull while investing in this type of ICO. Lets hope its legit.
