I am not really familiar with XRP's trend but i think one of the reasons why its value is going down is because of bitcoin's hardfork. As i have observed, it's not only XRP that is going down but most of the altcoins. They are probably affected by bitcoin's hardfork.

XRP drops with most alts as people sell alts to buy BTC in order to get more bitcoin gold. It's the same situation as we had with bitcoin cash a few months back.

I think the investers prepare to BTC Gold Fork. Becaose of that all altcoins going down in that times as BTC Cash Fork. If everything goes well, prices will affect well after fork in my opinion.

All the altcoins are going lower because of current upwards trend on bitcoin (probably because of the Gold Fork).... and the event of XRP was not good in my opinion...

Even I seem quiet surprised by this, I was expecting that it would go up post swell conference also I read somewhere that Bill Gates showed interest in tapping it for mobile payment system, thought it would go atleast up by few cents. But I feel the upcoming BTC fork is to blame coz all have exchanged their ALTs for BTC a the moment. Hope the XRP price picks up post Fork.

Cool article, but I do tend to read hackernoon with a little bit of imagination! I really do enjoy their pieces but that's what I call educated speculation. This spoofing speculation has been making airwaves for a very long time, and Bitcoin, unfortunately, is still concentrated enough that I believe there are enough traders who have the power to move coins up and down, no matter how small it is. I imagine they are definitely powerful enough to move altcoins, and they regularly do.

Many things can make altcoin ( XRP ) fall, even sometimes comes from impact. But XRP not alone in this moment, all altcoin has the same condition. If you ask " why ", I believe will not solve your problem, but how good your prepare about this risk?. We all know, no one has control about market and that why stop loss always needed. I suggest you to analyze again your strategy and take action. If still have hope about XRP lets hold but if not just cut loss. Thank you.

Man don't take it personal with ripple.its just respecting tradition.when btc pumps for a reason altcoins dump and when btc pumps for no reason altcoins pump.its that simple. Now btc is rising for a reason( btc fork) so people are dumping their altcoins to purchase btc so they can get equal amount of bits gold for free.

Sure it's falling and I'm liking it a lot. I'm seeing that XRP is creating a great opportunity for us, as we can invest now and get benefited later on. This all the effect of bitcoin hike. People are trying to get into bitcoin to get that free bitcoin gold and that's why miners, buyers of XRP are putting the money into bitcoin from XRP and thus it's going down. Just love it and we should know the best strategies to invest in such events. Don't take it negatively. That would be great choice.

Actually it's not just XRP but most of the altcoins are going down. The reason is that most altcoin holders are selling theirs to store more Bitcoins in their wallet and wait for the upcoming fork to get free Bitcoin Gold. So it'll be a bloody market for altcoins till the fork ended. But don't worry, if it is a good coin then maybe it's price would pump up in a few weeks or month.

All the altcoins are going down currently, because bitcoin is going up.
It's basic mathematics.
If 1 xrp is worth 10euros, and you buy it in BTC, its BTC price will decrease if the BTC value increases, in order to keep the value worth 10 euros.

It can also decrease for other reasons. As you might know, crypto world is really unstable, so the value of coins are up and down. It's the down part, probably because of segwit and stuff...

I think the Bitcoin price is $ 6100 and all altcoin prices are down. For me XRP is one of the same cases because the price of altcoin is now very low and it will certainly be difficult to recover in the future.

How true that XRP is being used in banks? What banks, can you name one? XRP's price is very disappointing. I bought at 51 sats now look where is XRP? The big lesson  here is DO NOT TRADE while BTC is in BTC rally. Or in Bitcoin Correction. Wait for the dump.
