Hi, guys. I would like to know if is possible mining Shitcoins with and how difficult is to do so. My thoughts about this are: I have an old PC and I don't pay for eletricity, so maybe I can do some coins and wait if it get some value. What do you guys think?

I would go for it, especially if power cost is not an issue. My GPU rig is set to mine Monero using XMR STAK, but I use Minergate (for now) to mine a small amount of Aeon or Bytecoin on it for the long term

It depends how old your computer is. If your CPU doesn't have AES-NI capabilities it's going to be frustrating. Of course, the best way is to mine a little to see what's the hast rate and then make a calculation and see if it worth the hassle. Even finding the coins to mine can be a challenge. Cryptonight and cryptolight algorithms can be your friends.

Here's the thing. You can play a huge gamble and find a shitcoin to mine in the hopes that at some point in several months to a couple of years down the line it gains some value and your efforts pay off. But the probability of that happening is so low that you might as well sell the computer, even for $50, and buy said shitcoin. It would help if you could tell us the computer specs, but if it's too old then it's not worth the effort, you'll get pennies.

go for it man i have a crappile of old PCs/laptops in the house, i have them on zcoin, its actually pretty profitable the trick is to find a coin with a good CPU:GPU ration on mining, XMR is NOT BAD, its GPU dominated but like 1:5 for CPU but ZCOIN is like 1:3 for CPU, making it hella profitable Happy Hashing!

~Got this girl in my bed, a roof over my head, i mint a couple coins a week, and thats how i make bread~ ~On the 12th day of Hatzvah, OGminer said to me: "compute root of the merkle hash tree!"~ Prohashing -- Simply the best Multipool!

LoL, nice ratios there, pardner... But what cpu are we talking about? If we're talking Threadripper then I would get your point... But old bangers will never yield you anywhere close to this. As a matter of fact, old cpus usually cost you more to mine with than what they actually manage to produce.

why not buy a GPU to mine with, mining with CPU is not really that profitable unless you got a very high end one.

Run some masternodes on it - I've used both XenServer and Oracle Virtual Box to run nodes and staking wallets. It's a great use of older gear, uses next to nothing in power and has excellent long term ROI on the coins you buy. For a full list check out https://masternodes.pro/My masternode favorites are CRAVE, CROWN, TX and PIVX.

Thank very much for all replies. My PC is acctualy a laptop with i3, 2.8GHz Not too old, not too good. In fact is below average. Already did a test with minergate, only to know if is possible to solve some hashes. In XMR it's opperating with around of 20-25 h/s. Almost nothing. So, I was looking for some another coins to mine. Easier ones.
Edit: Another point is the temparature of cores (around 61-64 ºC). What do you think, can I burn out my laptop? Does it reduces the lifetime of computer?

From what I know most laptops don't have efficient cooling and they are not designed to run on heavy load 24/7. So, again, from what I know, you will indeed reduce the lifetime of that laptop and have a chance to burn it. "Luckily" you don't try to mine with GPU, because the chance for mishap rises a lot.

For CPU i will suggest you to mine BiblePay. Its profitable for me in these days and a nice coin to trade. If you have at least I7 then you can mine some biblepay coins from your wallet.
