Satoshi is now worth $5.9 billion.

Money while you sleep.

Somebody should make a movie about him:

Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

I have read quite a few articles about Satoshi owning around 980,000 bitcoins which he mined during the early days of bitcoin. However, none of them are sure about his bitcoin address. And till date I haven't seen an account with that many bitcoin holdings. So it may not be true entirely. But truly I feel that Mr. Nakamoto deserves to be a billionaire for his path braking innovation and should have given Noble prize for creating an alternate economy which can't be controlled by anyone. So whenever we will talk about free economy in future. Mr. Nakamoto will definitely be highly regarded for creating bitcoin, a decentralized currency for everyone.

Obviously he didn't use a single address for mining, instead he used a new address for each new block. Due to this it's hard to tell for sure how many coins did he mine because there may have been some other early miners. The theory that Satoshi owns around 1 million coins is based on alleged pattern in mining that can be noticed in the first year of Bitcoin mining.

Good deal! With his contibution and innovation, I think he really deserves a recognition of some
sort. He was able to Think Ahead way than anyone else and his zeao
for bitcoins may br one of the reason why a whole
lot of others like us are reaping its benefits too!

This would be interesting if I believed Satoshi was a single person who controlled all that bitcoin--but I don't.  Granted I was not here in the early days and never interacted with him on bitcointalk, but I strongly suspect that "Satoshi" is a group of people that may or may not be connected with a government agency.  I have a theory that bitcoin was created in response to what could have been a global financial meltdown when the banks all got in trouble in 2008 with all of those CDOs and whatnot.  Had the government not done what they did, the whole thing could have gone kablooey.  And what would be the ideal currency at a time when banks no longer give loans and ATMs no longer spit out $20 bills?  A decentralized currency that is not dependent on banks or government, i.e., bitcoin.

I'm normally not a paranoid conspiracy theorist.  This is just a thought that keeps coming to me whenever I hear the name Satoshi Nakamoto, and I do realize I have no evidence for my suspicions.  In any case, it doesn't seem like those bitcoins will be moving anytime soon, and I do wonder who's controlling them now.  That amount of money is crazy to even contemplate.  Doesn't it strike anyone as a bit funny that no one has sold any of those?

He deserves it. His vision helped reshape the world, creating an entire industry out of nothing, and he deserves to be compensated for it. Not to mention he made a lot of other people rich. Whatever the case is, whether he is an individual, which I personally believe, or a group, I hope Satoshi is doing well and is enjoying the fruits of his labor. It would seem unfair if he only got the recognition and none of the glamorous life many people enjoy because of him.
