Hello,

I recently made a small transaction with quite a low fee of 6 satoshi per byte. The transaction is not urgent hence the low fee. However, it has been more than a day, how long will it take the transaction to be relayed? Since I cannot bump fees, I need to wait it out I guess. Electrum does not let me bump fees with a error saying "could not find suitable outputs". What should I do at this point?

Thanks

Can you post the TX. Right click the transaction > " view on block explorer" and copy and paste the link here.
It's probably either an error in electrum.

Were the inputs confirmed? ie. Was the balance in Electrum confirmed?

The likely issue here is that Electrum is recommending a higher fee for the transaction. The problem with it is that you will need additional inputs or to decrease the amount of change. If there isn't enough Bitcoins to pay for the fee, it would be impossible for you to use opt-in RBF to replace the transaction.

That transaction now has 3 confirmations... https://blockchain.info/tx/4c2519b434fff48e4e02764a7d2ebc94d95f32e5fc44805259e7b97677b9eff0

Included In Blocks 491076 ( 2017-10-22 03:07:36 + 1,462 minutes )
Relayed By BTC.com

It should be reflected in Electrum... you should see the little "clock" icon slowly filling up or a green tick Wink

I'm having the same problem with Tx 7a7aba2d16887dcee2104c7333243d43c2e6ab460aa304fffd033c91503ed435

Made the mistake of not considering the size of the transactions (I use Electrum as a mining wallet)... is there anything I can do? The wallet won't let me replace/increase the fee

Thanks for the help

Nothing to do but wait... The transaction will eventually confirm, or it will be dropped from the mempool and you'll be able to send with a proper fee...

You *might* be able to do a child pays for parent transaction if you are the owner of 1HkBCQdMUSrb4o9SbRoZTyiCvaP1Q9osMq or  3KqqvFyeV8w2hkwEecjGuBpuWAVxA1itc6

But given you're going to need to cover 8000+ bytes worth of transactions... That fee is going to end up being something like 0.01+ BTC at current fee rates... Undecided

I KNOW! It's crazy! Thanks for your response! The transaction actually just dropped. Do you (or anyone) have any suggestions for a better way to have a wallet which accepts daily payouts from mining contracts (i know i know cloud mining contracts could be a ponzi scheme... it was on a whim)? I can't think of any way to get around the issue of anytime I want to consolidate, it's going to be a large transaction for a small amount with a high transaction fee

Thanks in advance!

the wallets don't matter, the fee is determined based on the network and size of your transaction. and you are receiving a lot of payments. they are not that small though. each worth nearly $30.
the only (safe) option is to do what you did here, send with a small fee and wait until it is confirmed.

there is a riskier option which works best for smaller transactions. and that is using a third party wallet. like using exchanges if you are a trader. you receive your funds in their wallet, you can even trade with those and make profit and when it is accumulated to a bigger amount, you make a withdrawal.
although you should do some calculations first. for example in this tx you shared you have paid a 2.5 S/B fee or 0.0002BTC but it will be stuck. withdrawal fee of exchanges is usually 0.001BTC and above! but it won't have the being stuck issue.
