It is definitely NOT bitcointalk.org. There is a (big) chance that site is a phishing attempt to hack bitcointalk account. Just stay away from it and make sure that you click/login on the correct bitcointalk domain. On this forum, bitcointalk urls are colored in green when your pointer hover above it. Edit: Apparently a thread about this is already made before on Meta. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2295116.0

If you have ever accessed bitcointalk.to with your bitcointalk.org account, change your password immediately. Whoever is in charge of bitcointalk.to is most likely stealing passwords this way.
Given the massive amount of accounts getting hacked lately, I wonder what percentage comes from phishing due this bitcointalk.to website.
Has anyone attempted to know who is behind it? that can't be legal.

This has been around long back and it's a plan to hack the account of users. This has got the layout and each and every form of activities similar to that of the real forum. We need to be careful while using such kind of websites which serve as an carbon copy with very little changes in the domain.

You know the worst thing is that I googled something about a coin and this came up on top with Bitcointalk.org They copy the entire content so google actually index them as well and they never remove any topic or content so if you`re looking for a topic that is removed from .org? it`s still in .to
This is messed up guys. We have to take action on that and report the crap out of this SOB!

This seems to be the parallel universe going on...hahaha But on the serious note....BEWARE....This is a scam website. It is used to get your profile password and details. Hackers used it to hack the profile and then sell it others. Thanks to Forum mangers that they introduced a new feature in forum that send a confirmation mail to your registered email id while changing password.

We should be careful and try to aware other people on this forum too. Waiting for any reply from the "Staff", hope so they will guide us better in this matter.

Of course this is a phishing site. It is now becoming the order of the day to have these hackers go this way. I will advise that links to such sites should not be made active (like I did the quoted) so that people here don't mistakenly click on them. I have to enter the address bar edit "org" to "to" . the results surprise: https//bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2302330.0 I think this may be a different domain of bitcointalk.org. However, before the confirmation from the Admin, beware it
Pls deactivate the link like I did in your comment as quoted.

It is a fake site to get the username and passwords of the BITCOINTALK.ORG users so that their account can be hacked. There are a lot of scams going on nowadays. Alike sites are being created to con the investors and user. SO Be aware and conscious while using a site.

Yes the site op gave the link to is exactly a replica of bitcointalk.org, I had never heard about it before but yes it's there. Everyone of us should avoid using the same login details which we use here on this forum if any one of us ever register there. I wish some action could be taken against such copy sites to take them down but I think that's not possible. I guess it's safe to stay away from such site.

It's not just that one. There are tons out there.
Be careful what links you click on google and in your PM. There was a large phishing attempt using bitcointailk or something like that.
The worse part is that google is getting tricked sometimes and if you mistype bitcointalk it will show both results from the real bitcointalk but also from the phishing websites. Best thing you can do is report those, one report might not do anything but a hundred or a thousand will.

If the entire community of bitcointalk.org would report such site then it would really be effective at all.My comment about that site this is just purely a phishing site which it do really victimize bitcointalk.org users to logged in on the site.If your eyes isn't active or keen on links for sure you will really input your informations there on the site and later on you do find out your account has been hacked. This is actually a users responsibility regarding on how they do secure their bitcointalk.org accounts.

Yes it's definitely a fake website as the domain is totally different from the original one. There is also a huge time difference which can be identified by comparing it to the forum time. The topics discussed here are public and can be copied easily, so there are pretty good chances for it to be stolen. It's not actually backed up but cloned so that users can be a victim of the site and enter their details there. We should be alert and stay away from such sites. They intend to steal our accounts and sell them to other users.

As technology now even a new born child can be identical.. Wazzup with that.. Even a one dollar bill can be identically be made one is fake and one is real.. Has anyone cheated on this forum?
Are you accusing someone or a member in this forum is the one make this other forum to cheat anyone.. And if any topic on the forum has been stolen and backed up on that side? We need someone to speak out and confirm
Topic can be copied and that is publicly available and all of that is open to be copied and be used any else where.. I think you mean the accounts that might have been hacked..

This is a malware site and should be reported. There is no way to register on this site because there is captcha to solve but is empty just doesn't show up. So they just trick people to past passwords because it looks like you are just logged out and if you remember your password you can type and there you are hacked.
Today this happens to me when I was searching for other thread in google. Luckily I was actually logged on bitcointalk.org and I have a strong password, Firefox doesn't fill up automatically the password even I have tried a few times. He shows my saved usernames but not the password(lucky me). This is when I started to think something is fishy on this page because my browser didn't know the password for this URL.
So this is Google search shows topics which are actually deleted or not closed on original bitcointalk.org forum when you search for: "something bitcointalk" they show up this bitcointalk.to, I think. So be aware this is a malware site and there is no way to know at the first and even second look !!!!!

Honestly I am using bitcointalk.org from 2011 and I have never heard about bitcointalk.to ever, it's hundred percent sure that it's a scam but let's assume we are not blaming someone to run a scam then I can assume that it is a backup site of bitcointalk as they keep all of the form backup like post, topics, messages, account details etc and that separate site so if this site gets compromised they can still recover the accounts and the form data from there.

Obviously these are not the same if the domain is different. Why would you think that they would be the same?
Is Google.org the same as Google.com? Or Google.to? Obviously not.
I mean Google might own those domains, but it is a different website altogether.

please be careful out there, the original bitcointalk site has a .org domain bitcointalk phishing sites want to steal your bitcointalk account because currently bitcointalk account is very valuable

Apparently, something similar is going on with the BitcoinWiki. The "real one" is Bitcoinwiki.it, and there is another one called Bitcoinwiki.org. You can read about it in here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1253584.0It was reported a few ago by another user. The massive attack towards this forum is amazing.

So unlucky if you already logged in that phising site. It will rob your account. Go change your password fast if you ever logged in. This is warning for all of us so we will be careful if we find an uncommon site. That's a crime that already exist for long time and it hard to disappears. Only back to the users to be careful see the website.

I just found the .to site - It has a really recent archive of posts. I noticed it to be weird as I wasn't signed in - going to sign in it had an error on the capcha area for the 'webhost.' Hopefully it'll get taken down. Where would something like this be reported?

I just found the .to site - It has a really recent archive of posts. I noticed it to be weird as I wasn't signed in - going to sign in it had an error on the capcha area for the 'webhost.' Hopefully it'll get taken down. Where would something like this be reported?

You can try this: https://safebrowsing.google.com/safebrowsing/report_phish/?hl=enObviously its a phishing site. So the only way to avoid them is to double check everything otherwise say bye-bye to your account.
