It's not just that one.
There are tons out there.

Be careful what links you click on google and in your PM.
There was a large phishing attempt using bitcointailk or something like that.

The worse part is that google is getting tricked sometimes and if you mistype bitcointalk it will show both results from the real bitcointalk but also from the phishing websites.
Best thing you can do is report those, one report might not do anything but a hundred or a thousand will.

If the entire community of bitcointalk.org would report such site then it would really be effective at all.My comment about that site this is just purely a phishing site which it do really victimize bitcointalk.org users to logged in on the site.If your eyes isn't active or keen on links for sure you will really input your informations there on the site and later on you do find out your account has been hacked. This is actually a users responsibility regarding on how they do secure their bitcointalk.org accounts.

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Is it a fake website when it is identical to Bitcointalk.org?
Has anyone cheated on this forum?
And if any topic on the forum has been stolen and backed up on that side?
We need someone to speak out and confirm

I see some of the content is same but I`m kind of confused. There was this NEMEther airdrop topic here which seems to be removed (for who knows that reason) but the same topic still continues on bitcointalk.to ? I don`t understand what is going on???

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2270578.520

It is really do not the same as Bitcointalk of course.  No one or no other can clone the feature that this website has. Maybe the physical outlook but how it benefits the users? No one , so it is not completly the same.
Any forum can use Simple machine forum, it does not mean it is clone of this bitcointalk.

Yes it's definitely a fake website as the domain is totally different from the original one. There is also a huge time difference which can be identified by comparing it to the forum time. The topics discussed here are public and can be copied easily, so there are pretty good chances for it to be stolen. It's not actually backed up but cloned so that users can be a victim of the site and enter their details there. We should be alert and stay away from such sites. They intend to steal our accounts and sell them to other users.

Topic can be copied and that is publicly available and all of that is open to be copied and be used any else where..
I think you mean the accounts that might have been hacked..

Thanks for the heads up. The site looks like a clone of this forum. I feel the modus operandi is to steal btctalk accounts for selling. Be cautious from opening links inside the forum. The clone site will ask for your password.  Beware.

I see some of the content is same but I`m kind of confused. There was this NEMEther airdrop topic here which seems to be removed (for who knows that reason) but the same topic still continues on bitcointalk.to ? I don`t understand what is going on???

It's not the same site, I checked it but it's neither a proxy or a redirecting site. So better stay away from the site because your account will be compromised.

This is a malware site and should be reported. There is no way to register on this site because there is captcha to solve but is empty just doesn't show up. So they just trick people to past passwords because it looks like you are just logged out and if you remember your password you can type and there you are hacked.

Today this happens to me when I was searching for other thread in google. Luckily I was actually logged on bitcointalk.org and I have a strong password,
Firefox doesn't fill up automatically the password even I have tried a few times. He shows my saved usernames but not the password(lucky me).
This is when I started to think something is fishy on this page because my browser didn't know the password for this URL.

So this is Google search shows topics which are actually deleted or not closed on original bitcointalk.org forum when you search for: "something bitcointalk" they show up this bitcointalk.to, I think. So be aware this is a malware site and there is no way to know at the first and even second look !!!!!

Thank you for bringing to the notice of unsuspecting members of bitcointalk.org forum many members must have fallen victim of this phishing site and their password stolen when  I checked that forum it is almost tempting me to use my login details but I wisely closed it down completely.

I have checked and I found in my browser history that I was searching in Google for "readcoin bitcointalk".

As you see from screen Google shows in first place original bitcointalk.org topic and later malicious bitcointalk.to for 3 times !!!

So there is no other way to be safe only we have to check links when searching on Google before clicking. Each and every time.

Here screen with my search.

Honestly I am using bitcointalk.org from 2011 and I have never heard about bitcointalk.to ever, it's hundred percent sure that it's a scam but let's assume we are not blaming someone to run a scam then I can assume that it is a backup site of bitcointalk as they keep all of the form backup like post, topics, messages, account details etc and that separate site so if this site gets compromised they can still recover the accounts and the form data from there.

Obviously these are not the same if the domain is different. Why would you think that they would be the same?

Is Google.org the same as Google.com? Or Google.to? Obviously not.

I mean Google might own those domains, but it is a different website altogether.

this is the same case just like the MEW (MyEtherWallet)
many phishing sites that resemble the original
only different domains
myetherwallet.com (real site)
myetherwallet.com.co (phishing site)
myetherwallet.in (phishing site)

please be careful out there, the original bitcointalk site has a .org domain
bitcointalk phishing sites want to steal your bitcointalk account because currently bitcointalk account is very valuable

There is no way to make an account there because you have to fill captcha which doesn't show up so you can not fill in code or secret word. They hijack passwords. I thought that I was logged off suddenly and tried to log in using autofill luckily Firefox has not filled password because of a different domain name.

Apparently, something similar is going on with the BitcoinWiki. The "real one" is Bitcoinwiki.it, and there is another one called Bitcoinwiki.org.
You can read about it in here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1253584.0
It was reported a few ago by another user.

The massive attack towards this forum is amazing.

So unlucky if you already logged in that phising site. It will rob your account. Go change your password fast if you ever logged in. This is warning for all of us so we will be careful if we find an uncommon site. That's a crime that already exist for long time and it hard to disappears. Only back to the users to be careful see the website.
