Hey guys.

I have a mining rig with 18 Nvidia GTX 1060 6GB.
I'm planning to mine bitcoin cash as soon as it drops as i think the first minutes will be crucial.
Im thinking now if it is best to mine solo or mine in a pool.
I always mined in pools and never mined solo.
I found a few pools that are going to introduce bitcoin gold 1st november.

What are your opinions on mining bitcoin gold?
does anyone know how to configure solo mining and if its profitable for me?
Im now mining zencash since the price of the coin spiked and i stil mine 1 coin a day.

Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

I think you rush things. The fate of the coin bitcoin of gold is still too vague to have to look for the ability to get it. Besides, I think that its price would be so low that the profitability of its production will have a negative index. It's good that there will be another coin which you can dig through the GPU but it is only hope which may not be justified.

You can solo mine it but the difficulty will be so high that it will be near  impossible to find a block so it is better to mine on a pool.
I myself is planning to mine bitcoin gold with my 48 RX 480AMD cards as soon as the mining is available for public, right now the dev are mining themselves

Devs are saying you can't solo mine it.  Also the fork is on 25 Oct, so the devs can't be mining it as it's still 2.5 days away.

That makes no sense. If you can mine on a pool, you should be able to solo mine. Whether it makes sense to solo mine is a different question.

Hey the Bitcoin Gold devs told us that in the slack.  Ppl were upset.  I really don't think the devs know what is going on as they've changed things quite a few times now..  ico, no ico, no premine, premine, the list keeps going on and on.

You're right, this sonds like it could be a case of a miner who doesn't want other people
getting into mining it so they have a higher chance of finding blocks. Pretty much the only
thing I've heard about Gold is that you'll be able to GPU-mine it, though admittedly I haven't
looked into it at all.

Yep, lots of unanswered questions and the lack of transparency is definitely a problem. An anonymous lead developer isn't a good sign either. Be careful trying to claim your 'free' BTG.

I have a few bitcoin in an exchange. When they split the coin, I will sell it.

For a "new" coin like this how long would it usually take for mining software to be released? Is it just an adaptation of existing equihash mining software that will be done very quickly?
