What do you think are the most promising alternative coins in 2017 ?

I think monero and litecoin are two of the very promising altcoins available in the market as these are two of the most popular cryptocurrencies.monero being famous for its complete privacy and security. The transactions are secure and untraceable.
Litecoin on the other hand, if famous for its lightning fast transactions as litecoin is almost 4 times faster than Bitcoin because litecoin has a blockchain time of 2.5 minutes. It can show tremendous growth in future.

My favorite coins to watch right now are eos, decred, lisk and pivx. They are all backed by innovative new technology and partnerships and will be big next year. Hope this helps.

I don't understand the meaning of "promising"
If you meant, the project that will give you easy money after hit market, I think BitConnect-like project are all good to flip your money, BUT I will never recommend you to put any of your money coz most or all of them just copy projects and no new technology behind them, lol.

If you are a long-term investors, want to believe and support the technology of the project, you should take a look at Hut34 Project.

Take a look at mnx(minexcoin). They already gained abou 100 percent in n 24 hours. This coin is like paying dividends when you use their bank parking system. I've looked into multiple ICO's this month but the one that stood out the most for me was trade.io
