My client is not downloading anymore blocks. It's stuck at block 130687 with 1 connection. What's a normal number of connections I need to have?

8 connections is normal... sounds like the peer that you are connected to only has 130K blocks.

One off NP-Hard.

Exit bitcoin, delete addr.dat, then restart.

I didn't, I've just left it running and forgotten about it, still not working.

Is there a way to force a peer connection to someone outside of your current connections if you do not have a fully updated block list?
