Which is the exactly time for Bittrex Bitcoin Gold snapshot?

Hi All,

On the statement, they addressed the time during the BTG snapshot block 491,407 occurring approximately on October 23, 11pm PT (6am UTC) but on the headline it was October 24, 3am PT (10am UTC). They are two different time frames, so which is exactly the right one?

this is around October 25th. it is possible they miscalculated the time since it is impossible and finding blocks is sort of a luck base thing.

I think Yes, there's not exact time frame and its based on block 491407. I remember during the Aug 1 split, I was up to witness the first blocked for Bitcoin Cash, but the event came nearly 6 hours after 478,558. It could happen on Oct. 25 but the exact time will not be certain. So I guess I need to wake up and watch history unfolds one more. . Anyone also during the same?

because of how the bitcoin difficulty works it is impossible to tell when a block is going to be mined if it is far away from today. you can just guess based on the fact that average time between blocks is 10 minutes so 144 blocks per day are being created.
but now that we are close you can make a better guess. so 491,407 will be on 25th. because only 132 more blocks are remaining.

No, i think that it will be done in 8 hours from now, if we calculate the total time that every block is during, then we can realize that it will probably take more than 8 hours or maybe 10 to be able to see our bitcoin gold, or maybe to realize that the fork is done.
Probably after October 24th on 6:00AM - 8:00 AM (utc) but we dont know yet, maybe it will take more time, but it will probably be tomorrow 24.

On the website https://btcgpu.org/ it says BLOCK 491407 has been reached. I was expecting it to be laster tonight but like an earlier poster said there is no timeframe it's just when the blockchain gets there. Prob why altcoins gaining traction already because the snapshot is done.

Btg pool is not working for now. But we reached that block. Its not a smoothh launch due block reached earlier then expected time.
Block time is related to luck and hashrate so everybody failed about date.

Did they makke a snapshot?

I read that they will do it till 27th of Oct...

I missed it and let my coin on the exchange, because I tought the snapshot would be done later... (announced Oct. 25th on their website)

It reached about 7 hours ago. Bitcoin price fell right after the blockchain reached 491407, and Altcoins Flied high.
