Wil Ethereum surpass Bitcoin in the long term?

The main thing to believe! If you are interested in this coin, you mean you earn it. Just believe and everything will come true.

All depend on the cryptocurrency of bitcoin. We see it all the time. Until the rising price of bitcoin is increasing and the price of Ethereum. Of course this does not apply to such moments as we saw before the fork. at this point, the price of cryptocurrencies is reduced because the capital is removed to buy bitcoins, but then the capital is returned. And of course a limited amount of coins bitcoin will restrain inflation. The Ethereum on the contrary has no restrictions on mining and it will inevitably lead to inflation.

In terms of value per coin it would be impossible to surpass bitcoin because it has only 21 Million supply but in terms of overall marketcap it would be possible because  ethereum has more supply than bitcoin.

I do not think that in the foreseeable future, the etherium will outstrip bitcoin. Both coins are very promising and they have a future, but bitcoin is more popular and supportive, and the course between them is too different. However, in many ways it will depend on the team of developers of these coins, how quickly they will eliminate their emerging vulnerabilities and improve their technology. After all, it may happen that some other, more perfect coin will take a leading position.

ethereum will remain number 2 under the care of bitcoin, but it can not be denied if ETH has a bright future.

Anything can possible in cryptocurrency but the thing is supply when compared to Bitcoin, Eth has huge supply and when it comes to growth Bitcoin is already expanding it network. In some countries Bitcoin is another option for payments but ETH is not up to the mark.

I dont think it is possible but this is life and literally anything is possible so maybe there is an off chance this occurs. But I can only see that happening if bitcoin some how messes up, not through ethereum excelling .

If we draw an analogy bitcoin is like bank system while Ethereum is industrial sector. I suppose bitcoin will be TOP-1 coin for very long time.

This is just a pretty good way of putting it. There will be so many development for bitcoin to make it remain at the top of its own game judging even from the recent developments now, but that will never make it surpass bitcoin at the long run.

There are so many alternatives coming up for eth and if ethereum does not stay at least one or two step ahead of its game, it might even be surpassed by these alternatives.

I know everybody are looking for a great opportunity in terms of gaining investment. If people having found in ethereum, it might change their mind and put their money in ethereum. But as we recall its history, bitcoin is still having a huge potential in earning profit and having a chance of surpassing bitcoin by ethereum is very impossible.

But, Ethereum is doing more on the development of blockchain side of things.

Surpass in tech, yes, definitely. Currency wise, not so sure.

In my humble opinion, yes. Ethereum as a project has many more real case uses, and the number of developers building on top of it is unprecedented on the crypto world. Meanwhile Bitcoin is stuck not being able to scale to 2mb even after 2 years of heavy debate within the community.

I don't think that Ethereum will suprasses the value of bitcoin yes we know that the main root of altcoins out there is bitcoin. Maybe the prize of ethereum will go higher but surpassing the value of bitcoin is impossible. It will stay on the top 10 coins in the market but ethereum will never replace it. Future of ethereum maybe far ahead compare to bitcoin but I hope developers and investors see the potential of this coin.

No I don't think it will surpass bitcoin although it could be next coin to bitcoin. Ethereum still is having a hard time reaching a new ath although most ICO project usually use the Ethereum blockchain. A lot has questioned why it still hasn't increased its price yet, so why would you think it could surpass bitcoin when it is having a hard time reaching a new target price?

I think bitcoin will remaing the leading cryptocurrency for atleast the next 2 years. What happens then is impossible to call given our very volatile and fast moving market. But in the future i could definitely see Ethereum fighting for the #1 spot.

If you are talking about that being 10 years. Then I would say the answer is definately YES!

Basically I don't think that ethereum value will surpass the value of bitcoin in a certain long term, but indeed sometimes something we didn't expecting it.. could be happened without us knowing it. Ethereum is the one of altcoins that has the highest price consistent price of other altcoins, well it could be happened.. but for me personally the possibility is still small if in 1 or 2 years ahead ethereum will surpass bitcoin.

Yes but the ethereum already become a leader in the tech, and i think that the ethereum already passed the bitcoin in the tech comparison. bitcoin with the latest 2x fork just give a little improvement to the network.

It's a long stretch for surpassing the bitcoins and the ETH doesn't have a big shot for now to do it and yet bitcoins had great events happened recently and it gains more attention to the people and they had been lured to invest bitcoins and hold it for long term profit. And ethereum's BTC value is decreasing and that is the one huge disappointment that people cannot take to handle since ETH is bit scary since the price is little bit falling.

I believe ETH may not surpass BTH. THough, ETH is a promising cryptocurrency and the second best from BTC. ETh has an amazing possibilities with the use of smart contracts and programming codes. Though, It currently has scaling problems and potential issue of immutability.
