Would you please link something to that diploma you are talking about? I'm curious about that, but of course it's possible that's a new kind of scam that used to rip off people some money. Blockchain is not yet an official subject on any university

I don't there is a 'Blockchain diploma' and sounds like it's a scam. There might be courses explaining how the Blockchain works but there aren't any accepted diplomas for it.

I would be wary of people offering courses in block chain expecially if it includes you paying for it. Just learn everything you can.

A blockchain diploma is the concept of (as the name implies) a blockchain-based diploma system.
As far as I am aware of it debuted at MIT a few days ago and you can check out the website here: https://www.blockcerts.org/
How you can receive a diploma like that? Graduate from an academic institution that uses this technology.

It has nothing to do with a diploma in blockchain technology which doesn't (and arguably shouldn't) exist.

Diploma in blockchain. Weird to here that dude. Even the technical people who contributed initial time coding to the blockchain and bitcoin will not have the certificate you are saying. Some educational mafia may try to cheat the people in the way by providing diploma or certificate to learn blockchain technology.
Until bitcoin is been centralized no one can own the patent to give the certificate as specialized in any project or something. Perfect scam.

Diploma in blockchain
What can I do with it, who recognizes and accepts me to work, what can I do for a company?
I think the future may be we need a blockchain training program for everyone

Blockchain technology is a great technology, helping our lives become much better
Therefore, I think there needs to be a complete and well-rounded education in blockchain technology

But I think in the future, blockchain will become an official topic, a subject that needs to be researched and taught in universities.

Wow, this is the first time that I've heard about it. Upon checking the previous posts above, it appears that this is a new thing that was released few days ago by an academic institution. I just can't believe that there will come a time that this will happen. I'm quite skeptical about it. I mean, you can get all the information about that and be an "expert" about it just by researching information about it in the internet which is free. Paying money for it just doesn't feels right.  Roll Eyes

This is one of the many uses of blockchain technology. We are already seeing some Universities trying to create a system based on the blockchain, that will issue and list the diplomas of their students there. By doing this, the fraud on fake college diplomas, that happens in many countries will end.
I think the only requirement for you to receive a blockchain diploma, is to be in a University or institution, that will issue their diplomas like that. Right now there are only a few doing it, but I think it will become mainstream, so you just need to wait for it to be available.

What universities are doing this? That's a great way and I think every part of the world could benefit from it including the emergency services.

I don't know about the diploma his talking about but that doesn't sound right and yes any school would not give any thing like that and I agree that you can sure research about this and be an expert, this can be a self study for your self, I know that this technology is very difficult to understand if you not thoroughly read and analyze well about this yes you will not understand it technically, but If it does have a diploma for that it can certainly be helpful for people that doesn't have knowledge with the technology.

Hey, thanks for your insights on the subject - we are working on this concept!

My name is Hristian and I am leading the Open Source University ICO at www.os.university.

What MIT are building for their students, we are building for the global learners' community.

Check out our project discussion at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2393582.0.

I will be happy to keep in touch.

Best,
Hristian

Blockchain is a kind of a new technology and you can`t have a diploma for it. Its like having a diploma for IOS development. You gain the diploma as a software developer than you choose whenever you wish to specialize.

A blockchain diploma is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard of. I have been following this space since 2011 and from the information I found online, I don't need a diploma to tell me if I understand the blockchain or not. I wonder if any of these people studying it are studying the decentralization of it, or if they're pushing centralized blockchains on Ethereum?

Well I have not heard about Diploma in blockchain before now, This is my first time of hearing about qualification in blockchain. But if there will be institutions that will adopt blockchain in their curriculum it will help in building a strong knowledge about blockchanin and altcoin in general. People can enroll and study and acquire a deep knowledge about blockchain technology.

What are the requirements you need to received a blockchain diploma?   And how can you avail of it?

While there are a few degree programs at certain institutions that provide blockchain coursework, there is no "blockchain diploma" per se. to be honest, there is barely any coursework about bitcoin, it really hasnt been around long enough for anyone to write a book. the idea itself is pretty novel, distributed ledgers that is, but bitcoin is just standard coding beyond the ideological concepts that it embodies. so beyond the security protocols that need to be observed in this trustless ecosphere , and the design/best practice that goes into making decentralized apps, this is just programming.

and im thinking this will be more of a business thing than a comp science thing. its the concepts that make this thing, not the code. the code is just the corpus.
