Hi Guys and Gals

I am having a major riser issue which I have tried for a week to solve with no luck.

Problem: GPU's not detected when connected with risers. Not showing up in device manager(or anywhere else), fans not spinning but the lights come on (RX580 Nitro+).

They show up fine when connected directly to the motherboard, I am stabling mining with 2 cards(480 and 580). I started off using a packet of 6 sata/molex powered risers. Nothing, just lights.
Tried a new pack of 6 pin PCIE powered risers connected directly to the power supply, still nothing.
Updated bios for the ASUS M5A97 LE 2.0 mobo, still nothing.
Cannot find the Bios settings to try changing (Gen2, Gen3) and (PCIE 3.0/2.0/1.0) as this may be the issue. I have systematically searched it but not found them.
I have tried connecting to all the different PCIE ports 2 (1X) and 2 (x16)

No on board graphics slot to connect a monitor, so I cannot try disconnecting all the cards. Although I have tested them one at a time.

I know the PCIE slots work as the graphics cards are connected directly to them. I know the cards work as they are running. The only thing I cannot test 100% is the risers as I am currently building the 2nd rig with a ASROCK H81 BTC R2.0 so I will be able to the plug the risers into there to confirm they are 100% working. But it is very unlikely 12 risers will all be broken, when the lights are coming on when I connect a RX 580 Nitro+.

I feel the problem is the data flow or bios. Some setting somewhere must be changed to allow them to be seen. Could it be a jumper issue? then surely the x1 slots would still work. I have searched and searched with no joy.

Please help

Many Thanks

Last thing to do - go to the ALTCOIN section where everyone use CPU/GPU's for mining the altcoins....
You posted in BTC Hardware and we don't use no stinkin' GPU's here -- ASIC-based SHA256 miners only.

SOLVED Pls Ignore

Powered risers does not actually mean you dont have to power the GPU. Schoolboy error.

Apologies
