What kinds of attacks have you pool operators been noticing and what was your best bet to mitigate it?

On a side note, the attacks seem to be less frequent and more targeted towards the largest mining pools recently... perhaps they are somewhat benevolent in nature and only trying to "even out" the playing field?
It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

I don't think any of the pool operators are going to answer this.
Any info posted will only help whoever is DDoSing more efficient.

Hey, at least it's "distributed" denial of service, lol.

I don't know what they are most vulnerable to, but I'm tired of the pools I use getting attacked.  It really needs to stop.

If no pool owners will, then perhaps somebody who knows more about pushpool and/or bitcoin in general can help me out?

I have proposed a solution to ddosing the bitcoind client's port on this thread.
