I have downloaded Electrum wallet into my Desktop PC at home. I am currently away from home (for 2 weeks). Is there any way I can connect with my desktop PC Electrum wallet from my laptop - I need to make an urgent transaction. I know my BTC receive address and have the key-words with me. Thanks
There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

You can do that by means of remote desktop connection windows+r then type mstsc or you can download Teamviewer application but the PC you want to connect needs to setup first and it needs to turn on in order for you to access it. why don't you just download an Electrum wallet to your current pc and then if you have your back up of wallet.dat you can just place it on the electrum file directory then you can access your own wallet without the prior effort of remote connection.

If you'd like, you can just use remote desktop connection and connect to your desktop, though that would definitely require you to have your desktop configured already. You probably won't know your IP unless it is at least static either. Its probably the one with the least hassle, if you have RDP configured.

If you're not and you have the seeds, you can download the client from Electrum[1] and restore it. To restore it, at setup screen, choose Standard Wallet>I have a seed.
