I think there are better alternatives out there to be considered before Waves, especially with Ethereum gaining momentum and having many more developers than Waves. It might be a good coin to secure short term profits, but i wouldn't hold it for 2-3 years.

Waves is more promising in the long term than Ethereum, given that Ethereum is already quite big and won't really be implemented any groundbreaking new features anytime soon.

Waves is public blockchain, I am buying it because it may be next Ethereum, guys you can use waves for ICO, there are many ICOs on waves. So people will buy waves for ICO, the price of ICO will go up.
That is the problem with Waves people, they only want to be some other project, no real identity. There is no way we can have two Bitcoin or Ethereum. The team need to sit down and think of where they want to take the project to not just doing everything

I just buy WAVE and STRATIS two days before and hope it will double in next two months. Waves is under valued. purchasing is still worthy.

I personally do not care if Waves will the next ETH or BTC. It looks like a promising project, has it's own blockchain and DEX + ICOs and token creation made easy. I see more horizontal public adoption potential than for ETH or BTC. For me, BTC is reserve like gold, ETH is main currency for trading and Waves is one coin among others for diversifying my investments. They all serve their different purpose and there is no need for replacement or dethrowning.

Hi All, Now that BTG has completed, anyone buying waves? It's slightly higher today than it was yesterday but still worth buying. How much will you be investing? ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) I'm accumulating more and more WAVES, because it could be the next ETHEREUM. Also the tech is unique and dev team is working hard.

Yes, with the hard work of Waves development team has given the best results for the advancement of waves so as to gain trust of crypto users to participate in Waves platform with various ICOs that use this platform. and I believe Waves will always experience better improvements for the future, it is quite realistic if now buy Waves as an investment a few months ahead

And still the price in BTC is cheap.

However, based on my experience most ICOs that are waves based usually aren't that successful. Most ICOs are ethereum based because a lot of traders are using ethereum based platform and big companies trust ethereum platform.

Waves is an altcoin which has a really low price. I see many recommends about buying some waves, but I couldn't be sure about that the waves can bring good profits or not.
Just look at how long Ethereum took to go up in price and then look at how young Waves is. Also check the roadmap and the features that are yet to come. Once the core features are out the price will definitely go up and a market cap in the billions should be fairly easy to reach. Thank you for the advices. As you say, Waves is a young coin and it can make new surprises in the future. I will search for it.

One annoying thing about Waves DEX is that currently it has low volume and at least WAV/BTC, ETH/WAV, WAV/EUR and WAV/USD pairs have sell walls from apparently same individual as all the pairs/walls have approx. 1500WAV available. Not sure if it's meant to regulate the fluctuation or to control the market.

Decentralized exchanges have not yet gained popularity and therefore there is not enough liquidity. The new version can raise the popularity of Waves.

At the moment the sell waller seems to want to keep the price down, which actually fits my situation quite well. Buy low and hold ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Really looking for waves-ng and upgrade of DEX. At the moment it's quite MVP, crude but functional.
