Author Topic: PC reboot when begin to mine with claymore  (Read 160 times)

Hi I have a tower pc with two gtx 980 with kubuntu installed, the thing is that whan I try to mine with one instance of claymore(mining at the same time two gpu) the pc reboots when it try to create the DAG file but if I first open an instance of claymore and begin to mine with one gpu and then I open another instance of claymore mining I can mine without problems(two gpu at tha same time), can anyone help me please? I don't undestand how it can be possible.

Specs:
RAM 16Gb
GPU 2x GTX 980
CPU Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700K
motherboard Lenovo SKYBAY
PSU 610w 80 Plus Bronze

Can you try with zcash miner? Or some other algo.
And also you psu can be a problem.
We need more info to be sure what is prob.

There are options to have a Low Intensity dag file creation and to stagger the gpu loading. Take a look at claymores thread for the options. Its worked for my rig when it restarts due to windoze it starts up no problem. You can reduce the clock slightly too. That helps.

normally your psu is a turd.
Quite possible. Your PSU isn't an ideal choice for multiple GPU rigs. I would opt for a higher wattage one if I were you. Each of your GPUs draw 300-320 watts approximately, multiply that by two and you've got your answer.

Sounds like a PSu problem. I had a similar problem when once riser cable wasn?t working. Pain to detect the source of the issue. Good luck!

I try to use "-lidag 3" in order to see if it soves it but it doesn't work but the parameter "-gser 2" works ^^
