I read that bitcoin gold is easier to mine using personal computers. Is that true?

Appearently, BTCgold is mined with CPU, not GPU (video graphics).
So, yes. It's easier to mine.

BTG is just another ALTCOIN and has nothing to with Bitcoin proper. That is why it *will be* CPU(?)/GPU friendly, as such all discussion of it belongs in the altcoin areas-- not here.
edit: has been moved by mods to correct area.

BTCgold is based on the Equihash algorithm, the same one which people use their PC to mine Zcash. This algorithm can be mined with both CPU and GPU-s but GPU-s are far more stronger and more efficient to mine this coin. It takes until 1 November until we will see pools mining it. The price though being 0.05 btc in Yobit exchange shows that it will not be as profitable to mine as we all thought but I maybe wrong here.

No, I'm not.
Take a look at https://btcgpu.org/

I guess you missunderstand his question and me.
I was not talking about that he can solve a large amount of hashes with his CPU, but actually with BTCgold it's POSSIBLE. SO it's easier to mine. Get it?
See ya.

You're a bunch of morons to think that equihash is mined using CPUs, you guys should start reading something useful about computers.  Roll Eyes

for those triggered, ofcourse it can be mined using CPUs, but what's the f$cking gain from not processing it on GPUs, duh!
