Just curious as to your opinions?

If we can just represent every asset as an alt coin, why bother with the current market, make it all anonymous?

Is crypto the global financial market of the future?

It might. But it wont happen overnight. There will be huge regulatory changes before that happens and that will limit crypto. Don't forget how many invested interests are there in the stock market. They have money too.

Lol no.

Try to avoid extremes in your mentality, it will cause you to make hasty decisions in your investing.

Here's something that will blow your mind: They can BOTH exist without one replacing the other!

I don't think it will replace, but probably add on to? There's no way large corporations who have spent decades trading stock will so easily be taken over.

Wallstreet is already in... but i don't think it can replace stock market.. because STOCKs are backed up by big corporations with working/well known products. First blockchain projects need to come to operating phase, not only ICOs.. and this is only the first step. Second one is government support, which will be the hardest one. Now its just hype on idea, and profits on fools.. So its long way for crpyto..

The most amazing this will be when a blockchain ICO develops the product, grows really well and then wants to do an IPO! That will change everything as it will provide an exit for developers and even more mainstream acceptance.

Almost certainly they won't replace each other, in future we may see some sort of integration of the two, there is no reason they cannot coexist.

Stock market and crypto is completely different thing, stock market deals with real product (it is supposed to be real one) while crypto market only deals with virtual currency which never exist in the physical form.

I don't think crypto market can replace stock market anytime soon.

I agree with the OP. I do not see why crypto would not replace the stock market. In fact, Buterin wrote about similar ideas a couple years ago.

Think about all the benefits it would have. Everyone who owned a share and the entire public would know the owners (using addresses) of all shares at all times. It would be inexpensive and rapid to exchange/trade shares, in any currency. It would be easy to validate that dividends were appropriately paid out by looking at the blockchain. There is so much money to be saved that eventually it would happen. Probably we are looking at changes occurring over the next several decades, and replacement at some point after that, gradually.

Crypto Assets can be used as traditional stocks/shares and the ICO processes is like an IPO in many ways.
That being said,  it is highly unlikely that it will replace STOCK Markets, More like corporates will adopt blockchain to distribute their shares as smart contracts before a take over happens.
Ethereum  has proven as a good platform to facilitate ICOs however due to regulations and security concerns and to a degree tech limitations the idea has gained full speed yet but many governments are actively discussing about regulating ICOs  and its use case as a crowdfunding platform..

The possibilities and potential are immense and we're just barely learning to walk..

No.

These are simply to different markets. Just like the real estate market can't replace the stock market or the precious metals market can't replace the stock market.

I don’t think people are going to be holds jcpenny and macys on their desktop wallets however I do believe that they will begin to work more and more together. Block chain on major stock websites.

Also a stock is just a record of your stake in the company, no reason that could not be turned into block chain at some point to keep honesty to the stock market.

One day each company could have its own token/cryptocurrency which are in effect shares in the company and paying dividends. They can be freely traded instantly on the blockchain, rather than the mess that exists today with middlemen an clearing houses.

These are completely different markets. There will be no taking over. As bitcoin is for transparency, while the stock market is very much the contrary. Lots of secret operations and suspicious actions, just to make as much profit as possible.
The stock market will adopt bitcoin, traders will use it like stocks. So bitcoin will not take over the stock market.

I don't understand what do you mean. Why will it replace stock market? There is no reason and 1-2 company worth total market cap of crypto already.

Absolute no! Bitcoin has nothing to do with stock market! However maybe some cryptos will choose that road in the next coming years but it's really hard to predict what will happen.

I believe that the crypto market has the right to life, but it is necessary to throw out many unnecessary fraudsters from it

The short answer is no.

The longer one is that blockchain is an integral part of cryptocurrencies, thought it can be adopted by stock market and used sufficiently, however, cryptocurrencies the way they are would be unable to replace the stock market as a whole for various reasons: starting from lack of regulation by central banks (or SEC) and finishing with the reluctance of some huge investors to go into cryptocurrencies...

Though I might be wrong
