ALL my coins have disappeared! I have version a 2.9.1 Electrum wallet on a pen drive and when I logged into it today, it showed that my balance is at ZERO! I can also see a transaction in red whereby ALL my bitcoins have left but I cannot see where they have gone when I click on 'sent.' I NEVER transferred my coins out! I also downloaded version 2.9.3 and even restored my wallet with my seed and still, my balance shows as zero. I just checked my address on blockchain.info and can see that all my coins have been transferred to an address. How can I identify the source of the address? PLEASE can someone assist me? Thanks. If anyone would like to know the address it my coins went to, I would HAPPILY supply it. Thieves!

How can I identify the source of the address?
You can't. Unfortunally, your coins are gone. Bitcoin transactions are irreversible and you can't really know who hacked you and took your money.

I suggest you to run a malware scan in your computer to see if you are infected with any kind of malware, and maybe even format your computer. Maybe you downloaded an infected file and a hacker took advantage of this to steal your coins.

Thanks, I did a malware scan and it reported no malware. I am very worried indeed. Surely there must be SOME way of finding out where the coins went to? I have the hashtag and the address it went to.

If you post the TX we/you can easily discover where your coins went.  Now you/we will know the address your coins moved into.  The person that owns that address can move them anywhere they want, and if they are stolen coins they may elect to run them through a commercial mixer to scramble their next address.  I am hoping that it isn't a "life changing" amount of coins that were taken.  If you are going to be active with BTC I would suggest investing in a hardware wallet because malware on a computer can't touch a hardware wallet and get to your keys.  Sorry this happened to you.

What options you have are limited.  There will be an IP, but any hacker worth his salt will have used an IP that doesn't come back to them.  LE isn't going to help you track an IP unless there is major money/value involved and then only if its in the same country as you.  Someone on the other side of the world would be of little concern to them.

Thanks once again. Please excuse my ignorance however what do you mean by posting the "TX?" What I don't understand is that my wallet is on a USB which I kept  in a safe place. The transaction took place two days ago and my USB was no where near the laptop? Could it be possible that electrum did a "wholesale" transfer of my coins during the bitcoin gold fork? I know that bitcoin gold is going through some teething problems. Btw it is a substantial amount. Sad

No. Electrum will not have transferred anything. Bitcoin Gold isn't even operational yet. All they did was take a "snapshot" of the blockchain at block# 491407.

One of three things has happened:

1. You wallet file and password have been stolen by a hacker (Malware with keylogger etc)
2. You wallet seed has been compromised (screen grabber, keylogger or you exported it to an unsafe place)
3. The private key(s) for the addresses the coins were stolen from have been compromised.

Did you export your private keys? Did you store your wallet seed in a file on your computer or an online storage service? Did you take a screenshot of your wallet seed or private keys? Did you recently install any pirated software or "free" software from unknown websites/sources?

If you answered "Yes" to any of these questions, the chances of #1, #2 and/or #3 occurring increase significantly. In any case, your coins are gone and your chances of finding out who took them (or getting them back) are pretty much zero Undecided

It doesn't matter if your USB was connected or not, if the thief had your wallet+password, seed or private keys... they are free to do whatever they want with your coins.

Even if your malware scan found nothing, I would highly recommend you consider your entire system compromised. I would seriously consider a full system wipe and reinstall of the OS if I was you.

I think much better to give us  your bitcoin address where you save your bitcoin
Check your bitcoin address tab from electrum and right click the address you use and click view blockchain
Check this image https://bitcoin.co.th/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/electrum10.jpg
Then copy the blockchain link to us we will review what happen to your bitcoin because it honestly hard to know what is exactly happen to your wallet why your coins disappeared .. like the other said electrum is not touching anyone bitcoin or transferring bitcoin and maybe your pc is infected.
Or you save electrum wallet to your usb and then someone borrow or use your usb to other infected pc.
