Okie my fellow newbies here we go:
The biggest problem with .bit domain names will be their integration into the DNS system. Currently one has to use 3rd party DNS servers to resolve .bit names, however that is risky since that dns server can also send you to a fake google.com etc... My suggestion is to create an open source Mozilla add on which queries that 3rd party dns server for .bit names only. Most people are not smart enough to configure their DNS preferences, but every one can click a button to install an addon....
The more people start actively using .bit names the more likely it is to catch on.
Initially add on can access the existing dns server, however eventually it could parse the block chain in P2P environment.
I am not smart enough to just write it, and don't have enough time to learn all aspect of doing this, however may be there is someone out there that is bored enough to actually get such an addon going...
It shouldn't be a huge problem writing an addon for firefox.
May be someone gets it done, I'd give Namecoin or Bitcoin as a donation.
