This is the sixth group buy I'm organizing. The first one completed here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=195647.0 The second completed here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=217981.0 The third completed here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=219422.0 and the fourth one completed here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=222960.0 the fifth completed here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=226656.0

Status updates:
2013-06-11: group buy #6 setup
2013-06-11: if you order 15+, I will ship via USPS Express service. (USA offer only)
2013-06-11: add .3 for next day FedEx shipping within USA to any order.
2013-06-11: don't have enough funds to order?  Consider using www.bitinstant.com  to fund via money gram deposit directly to your (NOT mine!!!) bitcoin address.  bitcoins are sent to you as soon as that cash is deposited at your local wallmart, cvs, jewel etc...
2013-06-11: HOW TO SIGN A MESSAGE TO ME (YOUR SHIPPING INFO): https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=195647.msg2291965#msg2291965
Please NOTE: the above example is NOT the same as sending a signed message with your transaction.
If you are new to this (aka noob), please read this so that you understand what to do.  This is the single most problematic step in the ordering process.
                  Here's how to sign a message with a blockchain.info wallet: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=180068.0
2013-06-12: This group is now open to international orders.  It is limited to those countries where FedEx can deliver priority/overnight.
You need to contact me for international rates.  PM me your address, and I will reply with your shipping cost via FedEx.
2013-06-15: group buy #6 will close 6/16/2013 at noon CST
2013-06-17: payment sent to friedcat
Timer removed. End time: 2013-06-16+11:59:59

Pricing:
The minimum order size for the group buy is 50 units.

The cost of shipping up to 5 USBs is .09 bitcoins.  Shipping cost in this batch is different than other batches.

Insurance cost is $2.40 for $1000 of declared value.  This adds .0218 btc at current exchange rate.

Handling and processing is .15 btc for up to 5 USBs

So this is about (5*1.99)+.09+.0218+.15 = 10.2118 BTC per 5 USB devices. which is BTC2.04236 per USB device when you buy 5.

Note: If you want to pickup your order in person, you may do so by appointment, after I finish shipping first, your cost is 2.0 btc per USB device under this option.

Ordering:

If you still want to buy and are fine with the above pricing model, then you will have to participate by paying for your order upfront.

There is one common payment address: 17UPMw8BHPvbiQ2dNQUPJunGFjAtFH2DkL

To buy:

pick the number of ASICMiner Block Erupter USBs to order: N where N is between 1 and 5 only
send the total amount (C = (N * 1.99)+ 0.2618) to the given address
post your order in the following format: <forum nick>; <N>; <C>; <sending address>
ensure the sending address is under your control, so you can sign with it in case of disputes

You can order in multiples of up to 5. Meaning: if you want to order say 6, you would place two orders: one for 5 units and another order for 1 unit.  to order 7, you would place 2 orders where N=5 and second order where N=2... and so on.

Here are the costs for ordering:
Qt  1=1.99*1 + 0.2618=1.99+0.2618= 2.2518 BTC
Qt  2=1.99*2 + 0.2618=3.98+0.2618= 4.2418 BTC
Qt  3=1.99*3 + 0.2618=5.97+0.2618= 6.2318 BTC
Qt  4=1.99*4 + 0.2618=7.96+0.2618= 8.2218 BTC
Qt  5=1.99*5 + 0.2618=9.95+0.2618= 10.2118 BTC
Qt  6= amounts needed to order 5 and 1 added together
Qt  7= amounts needed to order 5 and 2 added together
Qt  8= amounts needed to order 5 and 3 added together
Qt  9= amounts needed to order 5 and 4 added together
Qt 10= amounts needed to order 5 and 5 added together
International order: you need to contact me for your shipping costs which will be added to the pricing list above.
.....
....
...
..
.

If there is enough demand to order an additional 50 unit batch, I'll do so (given they are available to order). Those not getting into the queue will get their coins returned (to the sending address).

Shipment:
The USB miners will be shipped to you within 1 day of me receiving them.  Shipped in cardboard box, not padded envelopes... Here's the shipping sketch:

Communication:
I live in Chicago (CST time zone: UTC/GMT -5 hours) and have a day-job that allows me ample time to devote to this endeavor. I do sleep at night, so if I don't answer at night, please be patient.

Cheers,

Note: this group's payment address is different than those of prior group buy addresses.

The one thing anyone can do to make everything smooth and easy is sign a message with a wallet you control.  If you can't sign a message with your shipping info, you will create delays for yourself and slow me down too.

Next, when signing a message, most of the time I have no clue what the actual message is, it's hard to guess and in order to verify, it has to be precise.

For example:

You should send me something like this:

Address: 1L6ZbfnfMmcqFPJ97aZNqozKZQjDWppcmj
-------------BEGIN---------------------
Please ship to:
John Smith
123 Way Ave
City, IL 60188
--------------END----------------------
Signature: INB7sIYNK8eJ/qZZ/wS/l5nYjjdkOx6zXLZvjUMBGw/l+sjYfRcWgDi4B/+/Op9Y/uRqupjtpjSdMB2TLK96FBw=

Here's how to sign a message with a blockchain.info wallet: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=180068.0

---------------------------------------------------------- 06/14/2013------------------------------------------
You can add one of these http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005NGQWL2/ to your order for .54 btc (shipping cost already covered by your USB Miner order)

It appears that things have slowed down dramatically, which is sort of weird. Then again, I'm a bit hesitant with the difficulty increases looming.

Agreed on price but I got to get my feet wet with ASIC. I'm going to put together an order for 4 or 5 at least. How long did the first shipments take on average?

Bitinstant is back up and running so I'm gonna swing by a CVS tonight or tomorrow and figure out how to get BTC deposited to my address.

I think many are hesitant now because of the looming increase in difficulty.

I know Canary In The Mine does not decide the base price (hello Friedcat), but these will eventually need to come down in price per bitcoin in order to match the difficulty that is coming.  The 8 or 9 blocks being found per hour currently will result in a huge increase in difficulty.

ASICminer itself is responsible for a significant portion of the difficulty increase because it is deploying an ever increasing amount of ASICs to solo mine, which if you are an ASICminer shareholder is great, but not so great if you are just buying these to mine.

Bitcoin prices have been dropping so I guess that's the discount for now?

you got it!!  Grin

I think I'm going to hold steady with the 27 I bought lol.

Can't wait for my shipment to get here Thursday

Everything is already wall mounted. I had to use electrical tape paint over the LED's on those anker hubs because they are INTENSE.

Thankyou.

Bitinstant rocks man! Just a word of advise. Max transaction for Bitinstant is $500 . So if your buying more then that worth of BTC split it up. Do 1 transfer wait about 5 mins then do the next. You cant have over $500 pending on the network. I have a moneygram place 10 mins from me. by the time I got home I had 13 BTC transferring into my wallet - that's how fast it is.
