I've noticed that the price of most tokens/coins after they get listed on exchanges is way lower than their price during the ICO. So I think it's not worth participating in an ICO anymore, just wait and buy your preferred token/coin when it is listed. You'll save a lot.

it can be yes but sometimes if we contribute on ICO we can make huge profit too
some token/coins has increase its value when listed on exchange after the ICO done
just do a research carefully before investing in ICO

That is a much preferred strategy for investment. That would be less risky that is why that is highly recommended especially to those who do not care much about project backgrounds. Investing in ICOs without very detailed analysis of the project might only end up a victim of a scam. Saving oneself from this, they better wait for the introduction of the tokens to exchanges. However, they must also be quick because a lot of tokens double their value as soon as exchanges accept them.

Yes! Of course! That's asking as if it's better to get into a company early or later? Well it depends on the risk you're willing to take, high risk earlier, bigger potential of profit! ICOs still have created more wealth than they have removed.

ICO is a great opportunity to make money if you have a lot of knowledge about it if it goes as its route, you will have a pretty decent amount of it because the price of ICO and the price on the floor is the gap You may lose money if the ICO does not follow its route. Many ICOs are successful so if you have knowledge of the analysis then why not invest but invest a little so that if you lose money you will lose very little. Good luck

Not at all, i've participated in some icos and I'm not regretting all of my investment, I just put 1k in the vibe project and i got it back an almost 4k dollar. So, is there a comment about that?
That depends on your research.

It depends on which ICO you are talking about. Recently, most ICO has their price below the ICO price when they hit the market. Even the good ones perform badly and i think it is related to the hype in bitcoin that makes the market less likely to want to get alt coins.

However, there are some good ICO before this month. Like 0x, kyber, chainlink where they all immediate experience profit without ever going to below ICO price yet.

Yes some of the ICO experience this stuff but not all I still see a success in ICO investment just make a good research so you can choose the best ICO to invest with, this year marks the introduction of so many ICOs I think some of them will remain in the market and continue to become successful others might be gone. It is worth for me investing in ICOs.

yes it always happen that their ico price will not be the same after the coin is released and listed on the market but  some find it worth joining on an ico because they can avail the coin/token in a cheaper price but then again they will just dump it to get profit although they have to wait for the coin to reach its peak so that they can recover their loss and earn profit at the same time.

I personally never trust ICOs. There are so many it's incredibly difficult to tell the good from the bad, the scams from the honest. Plus, there's the gamble with the price once it hits the market. To each their own, but I see it as an unnecessary risk especially since once the coin hits market it's not too difficult to tell if the price is going to make leaps and bounds. Considering that a lot of the people in this thread seem to agree that the market price is lower than the ICO price anyways, then it especially adds to this. Yeah, I'm not planning on investing in ICOs anytime soon.

Telling which ICO is good or bad is very difficult. The information is very limited in bitcointalk so you have to take extra effort to research more. You also have to follow on the daily news on the changes and latest development to determine if it is worth to participate in it or not. However, if you do your due diligence correctly, you can profit a lot from it.

As long as you have chosen the right project then yes, it is very worth participating. We all know that ICOs offer bonuses and incentives to those who participated and when it hits the exchanges, (after a short dump) it will increase therby giving you the profit you need. But then again, you have to choose the right project and that's the hardest thing to do.

It is worth if the tokens they distribute after the ICO has higher price than the initial price that they promised from the start of the ICO.

Only if you believe in what the project is trying to accomplish, and if the company's evaluation is reasonable.

I'm a part of Upfiring (shameless plug) and we're actually working on something unique in the space. There are other ICOs that are worth it, you just have to sift through the 100s of bad ones and pick out the gems. It's more work than it used to be and you can't just throw your ETH around anymore.

Investing in ICO, of course, involves a certain risk. Here, you first need to carefully study everything before deciding on this. However, if it is about participation, for example, in a signature campaign, then you do not risk your money and you can only lose your work and time. However, this occupation is interesting and mostly profitable. Therefore, to participate in the ICO in this case is beneficial.

Noe a days a number of coins are introduced through ICO. There is no regulatory to regulate the ICO norms therefore everyone is launching ICO. The ICO value of coin is set by the developer team virtually and there is no solid ground of it. when it is listed, once the values rise and comes down after sometime so it is batter not to buy ICO.

It depends but mostly true. Considerin current bad ICOs I am sure that you will be able to buy even 1/10 of the ico price.

IMO, compare to the olden days

If you are looking at short term profit. Sorry, ICO is never meant to be flipping at the current stage

Perhaps months ago yes, ICO is on fire where people could flip easily, but its different now

Either wait for development, or dont participate

Depends on the ICO

ASSETRON ENERGY (https://assetron.energy) for example are still in presale and are already listed on the WAVES Exchange, which you can buy using waves, btc, eth, usd.

Companies like them that have a real world use for their tokens, coins, these won't be lower in price on the exchange, as people will need them to access the platform.

Coins like powr, and others that just sell tokens to make money, but you can't use their tokens on the platform, will be useless , now one will want to buy them and price will drop.

Yes don't just invest into ICO to make a quick profit, invest because you believe in the idea and that the company will make you a good profit, but in  reasonable timeframe, once they achieved their goals and are operating successfully.
